Very nice case.

I don't like the size... They could have had all them features and squeezed them down abit, just looks silly that big, lol.

Also, if your going to support HPTX, why only have a cutout to access CPU black plates on one socket....

Nice case though, would like to see more like this.

Thank you for the review Darksaber! I would never get to see cases like this if it wasn't for the efforts of the TPU team. I don't understand some of your review points though.

* Expensive - you better need the space or HPTX compatibility
HPTX is the whole point of this case...this is like complaining that a Ferrari is expensive during it's review.
* GPU support beam may conflict with CPU cooler
Why wouldn't you watercool a HPTX board? This massive case is begging for it.
* No SATA hot-swap
Hard to use your own raid controller with a setup like that. Lian-Li knows better.
* One fan needs to be removed to fit HPTX boards
Watercooling again.
* No second USB cable adapter
Most of these Lian-Li cases are server cases, no one needs USB ports for that.
* No 3.5 inch adapter for external drive bay
There are 13 bays inside! Who cares about external? If you needed external or hot swap in your server then go with a rackmount case.
* No screwless system for expansion cards
No one wants those things. They suck. That's like complaining that a new mountain bike did not come with training wheels.
* Basically no cable management possibility
Plenty of openings in motherboard tray and PSU area divider, you didn't use them.

But I have to agree with you; the packaging is horrible. I would be super-pissed if I got that from UPS and it was all mangled.

Hi Captain Abrecan,

1) There are other HPTX cases out or in the pipe, which cost less than half the price of the Lian Li
2) There are plenty of reasons not to water cooler the unit and interestingly enough, most people do not. Fact is the space should be there no matter what. the case costs 400 USD...
3) I am not talking about a RAID controller, I am talking about PCB and connectors, so that drives can be pulled out without pulling out cables along with it. the Xigmatek Pantheon has simple plastic brackets that do the job, Lian Li has used their own design on many high-end cases like the X series for example.
4) This case is not only intended as a server case. Fact is the SR2 only comes with 2 USB 3.0 connectors and future boards will have onboard connectors for USB 3.0. It would have been nice to have the option to connect all four internally - the cable adapter costs what? 50 cents?
5) Plenty of uses for an external 3.5 inch bay: card reader, 2.5inch hot-swap bay, hell even floppy drive...fact is, it is useful and available on more affordable cases.
6) The screwless systems do not suck from Lian Li. They are the best in the market by far. Solid metal and steel, strong holding force. Trust me - we have reviewed them all check this out: http://www.lian-li.com/v2/tw/product/PCI-01-b.jpg they can easily hold anything you throw at it.
7) Four openings is not "plenty". Other, much smaller cases have 8 openings in the mainboard tray for example. I did use the divider, but since Lian Li does not include an extension cable for P4 and 24 pin cables, I cannot route them behind the mainboard tray.
8) the package is fine? just very big...

Lian Li cases always have teeth grinding flaws, with all that disposable space why couldn't they just make the motherboard tray long enough to match the bottom piece, then we wouldn't have to see the motherboard hanging off, its like when they design these cases they don't use current tech as reference, still using stencils from previous series which is over 10yrs old, also their aluminum is too tin, so thin it amplifies any noise inside.

Wish WiNDy would come stateside without the crackhead prices.

Nice to see that have "refreshed" an old design and updated it with some new features. And old design? Yes, I have this identical looking case from about 3 years ago... and wanted to get another... but it was discontinued.

But now it returns... and is even better
