Hello everyone!

Since many years ago I have been using CCCP and Win7DSFilterTweaker(since I'm using Win7 64bit) for all my video playback needs.

Right now I have a need to edit video files (Xvid/h264 mainly) in VirtualDub. I've downloaded the latest 64bit version of VD and obviously it won't let me open files for edit since I need the "VFW" codecs for that. I tried installing (and nothing else in the pack) and it didn't work + it overtook playback from my CCCP pack grrrrr.

I don't want this mess in my system, I also have the AVS Video Converter in my system to convert certain formats I need and in my last OS installation I messed up the codecs that the AVS couldn't convert anymore.

QUESTION: Besides having CCCP for playback and AVS for converting video formats, what do I need to install to be able to edit video files in VirtualDub (Xvid/h264)? Hopefully something very minimalist that would only enable that and would not interfere with CCCP/AVS.

Thanks!

How exactly should it be helping me? Doesn't it only show you installed stuff and analyze an avi?

I know that I need a VFW codec for Xvid/h264, I just don't know which pack/version/file to download and install. I don't want to mess up my system by trying all available options :(

UPDATE

Ok I'm an idiot (or not), but I tried the latest 32bit VirtualDub and it works! (unlike 64bit version)

VDub website states you should be using the 32bit version of the program, even if you have a 64bit OS + 64bit CPU chip.
