hi guys, i have a 6870 on windows 7 sp1 with driver 11.6

Every time that i flash my 6870 with another fan curve, it work only before loading windows.
When it charge the driver the fan return to 22% on idle....and only 32% when gpu is 85°C

i must increase the fan, but if i do that with rbe and flash, it don't work on windows:cry:

have you a solution???
change/modify file
change/modify regedit key....everything.....

best regards, Diego.
sorry for my bad english, i'm italian :)

There is no solution. The Catalyst drivers are the problem.
I have two Sapphire 6870's which have an terrible fan profile and in order to play games I have to manually set the fans to 70% or either wise the cards will get too hot and crash.
Not even with Sapphire's own trixx software I can set a curve for the fans without a crash.
It is a shame that Sapphire won't fix the issue and that AMD won't let us toy with the bios.

I have my cards running at 940 GPU 1100 Memory and my lowest speeds are, like yours 300 on both so I wouldn't know how to lower that.
Besides I'm on crossfire so I don't really know if that has an impact on how much low clocks can go.

6°C less on core when the gpu is idle and less consumption for the sistem....there isn't any registry key to edit? :(
