I've been hoping for more individual game deals and less emphasis on packs, for most publishers I have a good chunk of what's in the pack already.

That's why I prefer Amazon instead of Steam. Oh and manufactured/retail instead of downloads for current games.

He can't be since he's dead. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is one of my favourite films since it just is even though I don't support drugs. Must be the narration, acting, tons of cameos, Terry Gilliam and of course Johnny Depp along with Benicio del Toro. It just works for me.

Again it's why I prefer far older games on Steam which by theirselves aren't fully compatible with XP/Vista/7. Amazon.com is a better place for my game purchases although I'm running out of shelf space. Yeah I know I haven't as many Steam games as much as retail/manufactured titles. All VALVe Source engine games are retail, except the very freebie ones.
So who's up for some Alien Swarm this weekend? Anyone know of good maps? I'm up for hosting.

Am I correct in the reasoning that you cannot gift individual games from a game pack? For example, if I bought the THQ Hits pack I can't gift the individual games to different people? Am I only allowed to gift the entire pack to one person (that would be less than ideal)?

Depends on how many serials it has. If there's just one than it's all or none.

Oblivion GOTY looks like a GREAT deal on steam right now, mainly because the cheapest new retail on amazon is $50 O_O!!

My current buying strategy is this....

I just went through checking about 600 of the 1000 or so games under $10 and had to stop as I was racking up the bill. I use these sales to stock up on under $10 games.

My advice is to just go through the list of all the games under $10. The main listing for the items of the day is so incomplete it is ridiculous. I just got Dreamfall and the Longest Journey for about $6 together and a bunch of others as well. I'm headed fast for over 300 games in my Steam account. (278 so far) :toast:

Back to the Future, Age of Wonders, Age of Wonders 2, Drakensang, Drakensang: River of Time, The Misadventures of P.B Winterbottom, Dreamfall, The Longest Journey, Painkiller Black, Painkiller Overdose, etc.....

Its hard to take advantage of the sales when you already own the games...... on Steam that is. :toast:

I was tempted to go for Drakensang, but I passed. I didn't know Painkiller was on sale, just bought Black Edition and Overdose. I know exactly what you mean by owning some of the games. Like Painkiller, I own Redemption which is the newest one, only one I am missing now is Resurrection. Which is the lowest rated at 38/100 and it's older than Redemption, but yet its 4x the price?

I have 2 quick questions

1) Is that sniper game on the steam sale today worth the $5.75 (w/ dlc)?? The 55 meta score is scaring me off so far

2) Does anyone think that Dirt 2 will go on sale for less than $9 $8 during this steam sale?? I found an unused steam key I can get for that price, but would rather get it from steam itself if it will be the same or cheaper.

I heard Sniper isn't too bad, not sure about the DLC. But the reviews from what I remember were pretty straight forward, wasn't that it was a bad game, was that it was too tough or something like that.

And it's possible dirt could go cheaper, though I'm not sure why you are saying $8, it lists it as $13.39 right now. I think I've seen it go for $6.75 before, but it's all in the waiting game.

The $8 for the steam key is from another place besides steam. That's why I was hoping to get it from Steam itself for that price or better. Sounds like it will be, so I think I'll hold off until it's on Steam.

You can hope, but there isn't any guarantee, if push comes to shove, I would assume that other site would have it for $8 later anyways.
