How does it compare to all of the last series, and did they add enough besides the pretties to make it worth buying? And is 1680X1050 supported, if not is is going to look like crap anyway?

I have the screen up, but can't seem to make myself purchase $40 worth of download to have a pretty looking Civ3, and buying it requires a drive through -3F or -20C weather and scraping windows, and putting up with the local idiots.

I bought it from Valve-Steam.

It is downloading now, and the wife is playing Super Mario Brothers in the other room. 112" projector.

I like Civ4 though I haven't played in months due to the lack of time. Like all Civ games you need to play for hours. Big long multiplayer games are fun. Next week I can play it again :)

Not sure if 1680×1050 is supported, though it does support windowed mode which I prefer to run it in anyway, while waiting turns you can browse forums, chat, watch pr0n etc.

CIV4 is like LSD. It lasts forever, and when it's done, you don't want to play with it for a while. It's an amazing game, however one match takes a CONSIDERABLE amount of time.

You can have quick matches on small match, though the long half a day+ games on huge maps with tons of players are the best :)

I dislike the mixed attitude between cultures so far, it is causing early wars in the game anc I'm going to have to destroy two other civs because of it.

Then again, I guess that it is accurate.

Too late (sniffes) I'm addicted.

I started on one of the project words that is tiny.

And I am currently the only one with gunpowder. Cities fall with a few rounds. Canons are good, and the machinegun units are great against knights attacking cities.

We should trade save files and compare how they come out, i have done it before with friends and its always fun.

Damn. At medium on difficulty, and on a huge wolrd map. I am getting my @ss handed to me by not one, not two but THREE other civs that are trying to take me out.

I have lost and retaken two cities and they have managed to destroy most of my wonders.

This game is HARD!!!! I like it, but it will soon turn, as my riflemen are beating the piss out of their knights and I will soon have canons to put the beat down on their cities.

Now, would COD War Chest be worth buying. COD, COD2, and COD United Forces? $39.99 off Steam. I liked the COD2 Demo.

All of the COD games are amazing. I recently just picked up the United Offensive addon to the original, love it.

I forgot how cracky this game is. I installed it and played it for the first time since I got my xbox in 2005. Yep, still super addictive.

havnt played any Civ game online after Civ2 Gold Edition which was kinda suckish, but Civ 4 does posses many great SP qualities i enjoy, its almost as good as Civ 2 and alot better than CivIII could have hoped to be. Then agian they have yet to give me anything near the level of Alpha Centuri

Don't use Steam, though if it's the only way your version can run I'll install it. I'm quitting my job Friday so I should have plenty of time for ~2 weeks.
