I had a 26" IPS I bought in 2008, but I sold it and switched to 3 26" TN panels for Nvidia surround in 2010 because I couldn't afford another two 26" IPS panels.

TN. I got it in 2008 right before it became impossible to find a decent quality panel. Viewsonic had two models with identical specs but one was $70 cheaper. I had the sense to buy the more expensive one right before it was discontinued. To this day I have never seen a TN panel that comes close to mine in IQ. Seems everything on the market now is a victim of drastic corner cutting. Funny how brands like Samsung still charge premium prices when they were among the first to introduce the panel lottery system that started this domino effect that made every brand utter crap. This extends into HDTVs as well. Use to be you had premium brands and cheap crap you knew to avoid. Samsung couldn't live with that so they had to try and cut into the cheap crap market share. Now all you can buy is cheap crap. It's ridiculous.

2 TNs. Don't have the money to buy expensive ones.

Paid about €220 for my Asus and €170 for my Samsung

Bought mine early this year. I had finally decided to ditch my old CRT because it strained my eyes @_@

Edit: I have TFT-LCD IPS but i voted for TN lol. I really love IPS because it is still clear even when not perpendicularly viewed

Me to! Dell U2311H eIPS, once you try it, you just can't go to TN. Bought it just few weeks ago. I have BenQ G2220HDA next to Dell and everything looks just wrong, unreal and washt out on TN...

Put IPS and TN one next to another and you will see the difference.;) In short, only drawback that IPS has comparing to TN is response time, everything else is much better on IPS... There is new type of IPS panels -eIPS and they are quite cheap, from 200-300$. Other types are much more expensive and slightly better...

Mines a LG 23" bought about 2 years ago. Ill have to look at the box when I get home.

Remember when LCD were just coming out and people were like "my CRT is so much better for gaming" "I wouldn't own a LCD" you cant give them away now.

Tried a IPS but the latency was to terrible and the ghosting was so bad I just couldn't stand it. Oddly the IPS panel was the first panel I've ever actually noticed the latency on in the form of ghosting, and I've got really old LCDs rated at 16ms...

The poll results make me want to puke

It is just a sign of the times. TN stinks compared to MVA/PVA and IPS. Man it just gives me such disappointment to see some of you guys have to put up with 6 bit color and whatever other crap such as light bleed. I bought 1 TN panel and it was good and huge. (27.5" viewable but had bad panel uniformity in the dark) If you really want to have some fun and avoid TN buy a 32" 1080p HDTV that will offer a bigger and better picture than a TN monitor ever would and you just might have a whole bunch of HDMI connections to play with, too. I'm using my refurbed Vizio 32" 1080p HDTV that I got at Tigerdirect for $400 a few years ago. I also use my 42" 120hz open box Insignia HDTV with the "frame stabilizing" interpolation on in many cases. (It really helps my PS2 seem to have a better frame rate) You could probably do better today and new!!!! PC support is getting better and better with monitors marketed for television use. DEATH TO TN!!!!!! Oh yeah, and I also have the IPS HP LP3065 so I know what a high end IPS panel looks like and guess what you don't need that at all. An MVA/PVA or IPS 8 BIT or 10 BIT panel is the way to go. The difference between TN and a quality panel is very apparent.:)

Light bleed isn't a sign of the panel only, it has a lot to do with the backlight and the general build quality of the monitor. Yes, generally IPS monitors are built pretty damn good due to the price of the panel, but I've seen some shitting ones too. A single backlight IPS panel looks pretty terrible compared to a good quality TN LED panel, and suffers from some pretty terrible light bleed.

Also, not all TN panels are 6-bit, in fact most of the 6-bit panels("16.2 Million Color" panels) have faded out of the market in favor of TN panels that can do 8-bit.

And as I mentioned before, IPS panels aren't without their faults either.
