700w PSU For i7 2600k + GTX 580?

Is a 700w PSU enough to supply an i7 2600k + a GTX 580? (Won't do much overclocking, if any?)

I'm ignorant to a 580's power draw but for some reason I think it has a minimum of about 550w. IF thats the case you should be fine.

Edit: I just looked up the minimum. Its 600w. A 700w will be pushing it IMO. It all depends on how much else you have pluged in. HD, Optical drives, etc.

Yes, more than enough. 700W quite capable of powering those two in addition to 3 HDDs, 1 optical drive, 1 fan controller, 6 LED fans (120mm) and a card reader.

Corsair is the way I always go when building other peoples rigs. Me I just can't afford it haha but my system is not that power hungry. Seasonic is another great brand but give yourself a little headroom (100W-200W) so you don't need a new PSU when you upgrade.

I ran 275's(one gtx275 eats 218watts) in sli with a q9550 @3.6ghz 4gb mem, 3hdd's a optical drive, 4fans on a TT Toughpower 700watts 3years old and ran fine.

A gtx580 and 2600k with oc wil be just fine aslong you a A brand psu like corsair

An i7 2600k's tdp is 95w, say ~120w
A GTX 580 tdp is 244w, According to Wizzard's review =326w MAXIMUM, say 330

That's a 450 watts for your main components. And that's the worst case scenario. Your PSU can handle them easily.

On a side -troll- note: Corsair+GTX 580 FTW :rockout:

Of course there's always an assumption it's not generic. And besides 700W, even if it isn't true rated like my current PSU (although not generic since it's "branded"), still has a ceiling. 600W can power that system just fine. Hell even "600W" (although in this case it's a GTX 570 now) can power such a system.

Why do you ask if a CM 700w is enough for your 2600k + GTX580 when in your specs it's a Corsair 850w?

Not the best, but will run a 580.

Yeah, I have NO problems running at 4.5Ghz with GTX 580 and X560.
