It'll be a console port with bad DX11 tacked on. And considering that the original Serious Sam game was a major requirement hog back in the day, they may be making a joke in reference to that.

If it's a DX9 game, then it won't need anything close to a 480/580 to run maxxed.

Yeah most likely a typo judging by the minimum specs listed. I'm pretty excited about this since it's only $35, and they give a discount to current SS owners, always love companies that appreciate Vets.

I'm a little confused. The discount I saw on Steam today had nothing to do with SS3, but rather if you pre-ordered SS3, then all other SS games get like a massive 80% off.
So your saying that if I already own all of the other SS games, I get a discount for SS3?

On topic, I just hope that the specs allow for hundreds of enemies to be on screen without having massive drops in fps. That's all I really care about, because all I will be playing this game in will be SERIOUS.

were it the hundreds of units causing the issue then the cpu specs would be increased, at 2GHZ for even an i5 a 580 isn't going to help you if it's a bunch of units on the screen.

I still say 460/560 being the recommended vga's makes the most sense with the other specs listed.

Minimum = 7800/8600
Recommend = GTX480/GTX580

Means one of two things. They either made a typo, or they have seriously jacked the setting up when maxxed out.

Option 1 is more likely, but option 2 isn't unheard of. Look at GTA:IV. You can easily play that game with a HD4670 on decent settings, but it still boggs down modern machines when run at max.

If the game requires that high-end hardware, it will be a fine addition to game benchmarks.
What I don't understand is the whole 480/580 thing. IIRC, the GTX 480 is pretty much the same as the GTX 570 and the HD 5870 was on par with the HD 6950. The game is going to run on DX9. If you take this into account, that's where these requirements don't add up to me.

Haven't you actually looked at the game page for BFE? Just like the STALKER games, you usually don't see veteran type discounts until you actually look at the page. And right now since it looks like 10% for pre-order, the vet 10% stacks, 20% off!

Also they got the deal going that you are thinking of, pre-order BFE and get 85% off the other SS titles.

This game is a must buy for me. I usually need a drink after playing Serious Sam.. It's so darn frantic and stressful at times. Graphically, SS3 looks impressive.

Me and my friend exploited the hell out of SS1 First & Second Encounter. I guarantee me and him played that game more than anyone else who had it. All we did was co-op, the most fun I've ever had in a game. I just hope they put rocket jumping back into the mix with SS3, it would be a shame if they didn't. It was just soooooooo awesome how big the outside of the levels were once you got out of the way of all the spawning monsters.
However, I will probably wait for the first few reviews to come out. I will still definitely buy it, but I just want to see what they say...because reviews of the first and second weren't that great....but the game was

It's a recommended spec. I don't see anything wrong with that really. Especially since they are not using the kick ass or premium spec for top end systems.
