I haven't tried tweaking any settings beyond my extensive texture mods but I still average 45 FPS with 30 in Whiterun even with it being my most heavily modded area. If your card is a 1GB 6870 then it would definitely be v-ram causing the slowdowns I haven't bothered to check how much v-ram I am using with my mods but I am sure it would not be pretty :/

Skyrim Total Enhancement Project is amazing

I'd use that as a starting point, but I don't recommend following his directions exactly. He recommends a lot of terrible texture mods and his ini tweak list is bizarrely short. Far more tweaks have been confirmed than what he lists.

cant wait, means my Ugrid 11 setting will finally give me an avg fps of 40-60 with all the texture mods and edits. now to really enjoy skyrim untill the Mod Tools release then I can really start modding. currently Im just tweaking armor textures and having kurgan test them haha.

My previous link is getting posted right now, but I found the same drivers on the Rage forum, and my skyrim FPS has rocketed back to 60FPS with ugrid=9 and better draw distances

Has any of you tried to do a "enthusiast" tweak/mod to your inis for better graphic eye-candy? If so, can you link a Screenie (of what it looks like in-game) and your actual modifications to the inis

It seems to introduce alot of image corruption, well I've got 3 minutes on my download left so I'll post back with what I find.

Performance wise, it is as I thought it is highly dependant on the game and it's optimizations so you'll still get the same dips in places my guess is since im already running one 6950 enabling crossfire for me didn't show too much of an improvement mayber 10-15 FPS at most, but both cards are definitely working. My Skyrim is stock, no tweaks for crossfire or mods.

In regards to corruption I saw the water in whiterun near dragon's reach flicker a little but barely noticeable, went to riverwood and the water there wasn't flickering for me :S. My assumption is people left their tweaks on for crossfire and could probably be conflicting or a poor reinstall.

which is rather stupid since Nvidia users dont have any issue with extra tweaks and sli etc lolz

makes me kinda jelly.

they get Ambient Occlusion forced via inspector, and they get sli support on top of tweaks not breaking things, which is a very real possibility, Ill just tough it out wait for a proper driver later with some extra tweaks.

Anyone find scrolling the mouse wheel during enchanting also affects the view of the character?
I will be in first person view then it will start to scroll in third person view when I am scrolling through selecting a weapon to enchant.

Also on occasion I get stuck at the enchanting desk for a few seconds before moving.

Safe to say we are in the same boat as NVIDIA now in terms of performance, just need to wait for the Skyrim patch which will hopefully have some performance improvements. In the meantime OMG my little pony weapon pack!

I'm hoping the bugged quests get resolved before performance but then again, I'm can not say I am having any major lagging or game crashing performance issues and I'm using the ENB patch.

Wonder if the patch size is going to be substantial or if it's going to be around the same size as the TESIV patches because I would be assuming the issues are mainly due to script problems when it comes to quests.

Just hoping it's not going to be like the +500mb patches which I last downloaded for DiRT 3 and taking into consideration I had to download over 220mb before I could play Skyrim even though I have the retail version.

being a vampire has ruined the game for me. and i guess im too far along to reverse the process. so i went to whiterun where i have a house and the townspeople came after me. then the soldiers defended me and it was an all out bloodbath!! seriously it was 5 guards on about 10 townspeople. the children were not spared! wtf is this!!!
