Changing cases??

Ever since i made my sandy bridge rig i knew i wanted to get a different case to replace my HAF and have a more sleaker look to it and not to cheap and flashy with crazy stuff all over it like the HAF. I originally wanted the Corsair 650D, but since im doing air cooling i hear the air flow in that case is quite lackluster. So i have been looking at this. I like it because its a lot simpler looking and cleaner with not much fancy stuff other then the LED fans but you can turn the LEDs off, and change the fans to better ones which is my plan.

If your going for the 500r.why not get an Antec 900 two its the same case but cheaper?

If you are air cooling I would just stick with the HAF, if my HAF-X is anything to go by then you are not likely to find better airflow even if you do want to ditch the "Gamer" look, why sacrifice performance for aesthetics?

well actually the big 200mm fans in our cases really dont do anything. They are pretty shitty fans. the 120mm fans in the 500r if you get a little faster ones can most likely double the air flow compared to the HAF

So get new fans? Anyways, the 500R is a good case, any review can tell you that.

well you cant change out the 200mm fan in the front, to anything other then another crappy 200mm fan. I dont use side panel fans really, since it brings in too much dust and can disrupt the front to back style of airflow. And then yeah the top fan i guess could put 2 120s. The 500R I like the look of it a lot. And yeah all the reviews ive seen especially Anandtech say its a great case

I also considered the 500R, but what put me off about that was the way it sticks out on the side. If you want clean/sleek looks, the P280 has 'em for sure.

yeah, at first when i saw the 500r i was like the hell, what is with the side panels. Now as i look at it some more it doesnt bother me.

I like the side panels. Adds more room for the fans on the side and it adds more room for keeping the cables behind the mobo. You can't go wrong with it.

yeah, Ill most likely get it. Its also a bit smaller then the haf which is what i like as well.

The 600T is not like the HAF, its not flashy at all i dont really see the comparisons. The 600T in white is amazing to look at but its pricey for what it offers.

LOL seems like the dude has his mind set before he made the thread.

My 2 pence would be to have a look at the CM690II.

It's sleek looking with good airflow when you add a few case fans, Added to that the white ones are real nice!

The 500R is nice, but I agree the 600T is superior in aesthetics.

If you want the 500R, get it. Who cares what anyone else thinks?
