An analysis from Trefis places the value of the App Store at 2 percent of Apple's market cap. AAPL stock has a market cap of $354 billion, or more than 50 times greater than RIMM, and 2 percent of that means the App Store contributes $7.08 billion to Apple's market cap.

"The App Store is probably worth more than BlackBerry," Hall wrote. "All of BlackBerry. Just the App Store. Nothing else. Not the iPhone or iPod. Not Mac. Just the App Store."

Lol, Blackberry. The only people I can see actually using Blackberry devices are those who get their phones through their jobs.

Um...

Certainly not a fanboy nor is it propaganda. Simply a fact pointing out how far the first smartphone maker has fallen (and not cause their whole industry has shifted like with AOL).

I have no love for RIM, though, mainly due to their arrogance when they were on top. Yes, many would say the same about Apple but imo they have much more right to be full of themselves.

They're really popular over here because people are idiots and buy into that Black berry messenger rubbish.

Not realising that their are apps that you can get that work cross platform that do the same thing for free heh

The amount of kids I used to get in the store I worked at asking for black berrys was upsetting.

Well, Crackberries have been pretty much superseded (except for business use) by iPhones and Androids, so not totally a surprise, considering multiple apps go on every smartphone usually.

I do not get all this app stuff . Really you need apps for what ?

You know how programs work on PCs, Mac and Linux?

Well that's what apps are

So basically what ever you want/need.

For example I have applications to turn my phone into a remote control for my pc, also works with my tablet so basically I can lay in bed and use a gigantic wireless track pad/touch keyboard.
( Can also mirror my desktop or become an extended desktop)

But there's so much else you can do.

Also there's all the games you can get, any game you get is infact an app.

Now there's different cameras you can download too, I've got a high frame rate low res camera application, can take shots up to 720p at the maximum shutter speed the phone it's installed on can handle. Also have HDR app ( Real HDR, takes 3 pictures at different exposures and then does all the matching ON the phone, even deletes things it feels shouldn't be in the picture so if you move a bit or someone moves a bit no problem)

There's music playing apps like winamp which are great, and feature sync over wifi and EQs and stuff like that.

Hell I can even get photo editing software, video editing software, music etc.

Hell there's even apps to ebay snipe, to remote control your utorrent client where ever you are.

ALL kinds of stuff.

berrys are the bees knees over here, i really dont do crap on my phone except watch movies, play music and make and recieve calls, i love a nice light berry that doesnt feel like it wants to slip out of my hand the first chance it gets, i dont understand this iphone rage, i have to convert the video to a specific format, then instead of just opening a window like a flash drive i have to ,load it into itunes over the network from the server then hope it transfers without a glitch...really... no micro sd...if i cant find an iphone cable im screwed, i have to "try" to get a song as a ringtone

if i am to change from blackberry, i need

mp3 ringtones...
micro usb...
micro sd...
multiple audio and video formats
more than 1 physical button
light
phone needs to feel like it wants to be in my hand and not on the floor
a camera with good features out of the box..the first time i used a iphone camera i was shocked /rant

i dont use bbm btw, never understood the whole pin thing
