20-pin ATX PSU and a 24-pin EATX mobo

The PSU is an Antec True 380s (http://www.antec.com/specs/true380_spe.html) and an ASUS M3A78-CM board (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2Plus/M3A78CM/#specifications).

The board has a 24-pin power connector and the PSU only has a 20-pin power plug. I will be connecting 1 320gb caviar blue hdd and 2 AP-29 fans. I will be using the onboard gpu.

My question is will it work?

Yes. As long as it has a 4 pin 12v plug next to the CPU

most likely. try it... worst thing that will happen is it may not power up. but im pretty sure it will

Well you dint say what CPU your using. But as long as its not the higher end and you don't overclock. The only negative effects would be heat. It will be fine. You can run a 24 pin off of 20 pins. Just don't force it in the wrong holes

it'll be fine at those power levels. just make sure you connect the extra 4 pin near the CPU socket.

7750BE... it will stay on stock...

The main thing you want to avoid when only using a 20pin on a 24pin is a GPU that pulls a full 75w from the PCIe socket.

I'll only be using the onboard so I think I'm ok

... I'll try crunching with and see how it goes... It'll only serve as a small file server anyways...
