Steam Mobile is in Beta, confirmed features include Community (I assume Friend List/Chat and Forum) and Store Front.

Currently it’s restricted to industry folks, such as news outlets.

You can sign up for the Beta through the App itself, all you need to do is attempt to sign into your Steam Account in the App.

My phone is a T-Mobile G1/HTC Dream running Android 1.6 and can confirm it is not supported for this device (I figured, lol)
Time for me to jump on that Galaxy S2 I've been drooling on!

Well has anyone gotten a beta invite yet ?
I sure haven't and there appears to be no way to signup :confused:

Therefor it makes the app pointless like my post for now anyway.

Seems kinda pointless... If I wanted to chat with people on my steams list that badly while I'm away from the computer then I would text them.. And I'm still not a fan of gaming on a cellphone outside of some time killing here and there (Kills the battery, you look like a fool, etc..)

Agreed, but that doesn't always work. For instance, I have some friends in Canada or the UK and to text them in a "conversation" would cost a fortune. Something like 15c per message, which would add up if you were not careful. And of course Skype or other various messengers are easy alternatives, but when your friends are usually on steam, playing games...this is certainly a lot better than having to VNC or RDP to your PC and say hi that way

It has everything the steam desktop client has aside from voice chat and being able to play games its far from pointless.

It also works on my kindle fire tho i cant screen cap that
