Alright, I'm looking to build a new gaming rig, I've got the OS, harddrive, monitor, and case.

I'm looking at the 2500k, a gigabyte z68 board, and some G.skill 1600 ram. But I'm unsure of what video card to look for and a PSU.

Any suggestions? I was looking to spend around 700 in total, with the parts I've already looked at there's around 200 for the video card and 70 for the PSU.

Mine will be;
GPU: I'd say the same as Barbericsoul recommended, or pay a bit more;
$230; for an EVGA card.; EVGA 01G-P3-1561-KR GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB (Fermi)...
or $250 A Radeon HD 7850 which will consume less power and possibly have more overclocking headroom if you are doing that; SAPPHIRE 11200-00-20G Radeon HD 7850 2GB 256-bit G...
If you need to pay less, here are $175 and below:
GTX 560; ECS NGTX560-1GPI-F1 GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 25...
Radeon HD 6870; HIS H687FN1GD Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI...
Radeon HD 7770; MSI R7770-2PMD1GD5/OC Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1...
Of which I would recommend the 6870.
Power supply: Rosewill HIVE Series HIVE-550 550W Continuous @40°... for the better amperage on the 12v rail, and it's modular.

Thanks guys! I swapped out the board with a nice ASRock one I saw else ware that was a little cheaper so I could fit in the HD 7850. And how much head room will I have with the 550W PSU?

Not to sure what part of the world you live in, but for a graphics card in the $200 (USD) range I would personally go for a 6870 2GB edition:

For Example: XFX HD6870 2GB for $199 after rebate of $20. I would choose the 2GB model over the 1GB model due to most games @ 1920x1080 requiring a little bit more than 1GB. It will really help with the lifespan of your graphics card and the performance of your system in high resolution games. XFX HD-687X-CNFC Radeon HD 6870 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 ...

For the Power Supply: The Corsair CX600W 80plus Silver for $69.99 would be a good choice in your price range.

It might not be modular but when you want a fairly budget PSU, going for a brand that is fairly well known for reliable products I'd definitely pick something in the Corsair CX range. CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600W ATX12V v2.3 8...

Goodluck! and happy computer building :D

Didn't see your post, due to the fact I was typing mine.

But definitely go for the 7850 if your budget allows.

I would still recommend the Corsair CX600W PSU for $69.99. It has all the necessary connectors for your graphics card and peripherals. Its a energy efficient 80plus Silver, and it comes from a very reliable brand. :D

Huh, Vulpes, you need to read alittle better man. The PSU I suggested has TWO 12 VOLT RAILS WITH 38 AMPS A PEICE. The Rosewill you suggested has ONE 12 VOLT RAIL WITH 38 AMPS. The Antec literally has twice as many amps as the Rosewill.

Antec's Output+3.3V@24A, +5V@24A, +12V1@38A, +12V2@38A, -12V@0.5A, +5VSB@2.5A

Rosewill's Output+3.3V@22A,+5V@22A,+12V@38A,-12V@0.3A,+5VSB@3A

I agree about the 7850. It'll give about 7% more performance than the 560ti and use less electricity.

I'm a fan of Corsair power supplies, but I still have to stay with the Antec in this case. The Corsair only has one 12 volt rail with 40 amps. The Antec has 50 more watts, cost $10 less, and almost has the same amount of amps on just one of it's rails, of which it has two.

Must of missed your suggestion for the PSU, sorry.

BarbaricSoul is right, Antec is still a reliable brand and in this case the Antec power supply will be better than the Corsair unit.

Go with BarbaricSouls suggestion :D

yes I do need to read apparently. So yes. Go with the Antec.

What's the difference? Obviously one has more power but what will that do? ( Noob question I know XD haha)

Well, first of all it's not really "twice as much power" (technically[i.e. you can't pile on the power to your CPU{though I'm not sure it's possible to dump that many amps on the CPU anyhow}. It is double the power for all other components though.]) It means it is two PSUs capable of 38ams at 12 volts in one box there, instead of just one with modular cables so you only need to plug in what you need.
Pros of that Antec: Safer power, able to run more hardware
Cons: cable management, power stability
questionables: it's green. Personal aesthetics vs functionality choice there for you :p
Pros of the Rosewill: no difference in power fluctuation (due to single 12v rail, not having differences of power on the lines[which you would never notice unless you did something really noobish like mix-and-match PCI power connectors across 12v rails... which you wouldn't do on this small of a PSU anyhow].) Modular so cable management is easier, larger fan so quieter.
Cons: Can't run as much hardware (still more than what you need though [unless you're going to seriously OC]. But if you consider xfire the Antec will be a much better option)
Simple answer; Both will do what you need right now, if you are going to OC or Xfire go with the antec 100%, otherwise I might still consider the Rosewill for the quieter fan and modular wires.
