Hi one and all welcome.

I have my long anticipated NZXT Vulcan case on the way in the mail and have been posting about CPU possible cooling solutions for it on this thread > http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2587063&posted=1#post2587063

IN one of the replies phanbuey posted his NZXT Vulcan pics and they look great! Check them out! And since this is a popular fun build that a lot of people enjoy, I thought I'd start a thread for you to share you Vulcan Builds.. :)

Feel free to post with Pictures, comments on setup, Hardware used, hardware recommended, Mods, setups, pitfalls to look out for and anything else on topic for the NZXT Vulcan you can think of. Feel free to slap them max it out and let it BLING and slap those pictures up to show your stuff! (keep your pants on lester not that stuff. lol) I'd love to see all the diff build types and create a thread just for this fun NZXT Vulcan case!:rockout:

I'll surely be adding mine soon!

I have a lot of pics for you. A few are below. Will have to get some new images soon as it has changed again. It started out blue, but it's now the "Green Blooded Vulcan".

I've had my Vulcan for 2 years now, and I love it. Its small size can be frustrating sometimes, but it just looks cool to me.

And it has gone through a lot of changes. From I7-920 with hd 4830 crossfire, to hd 6950, and now 2500k and ASUS gene-z. And from air cooler, to ECO, to custom water loop. I was experimenting with tubing through the side panel. But that was causing a lot of grief so it's now simplified.

Popcorn that is INSANELY awesome! :rockout::respect:
What the heck is that video card configuration? That is truely beastly. I have never seen that set up. Are your cards upside down or is that a top side air cooler?... On second look, I'm guessing you removed the stock cooling and shrouds and placed individual heat sinks on RAM and VRMs and then used seperate intercoolers or pci coolers to go between the cards and cool from the bottom, genius and creative. Wholy crap please share those card and mod specs. I'm talking about the second photo with the 2 cards that have lime green heatsinks and topside video card fans.

The green liquid tubing is highly impressive as well. I love to see when liquid cooler moders use certain aspecs of the case to their advantage when those aspects weren't really meant for the liquid cooling side of things anyways. Example, you're using the side intake fan mounting holes to run the tubes through... ingenius and creative.. I love that shiz
PSS. I notice the change out to green colors on the front face LED lol. Awesome, nice touch!

sorry for the late reply
Also, recent development. I have decided to not go IB atm (that could change/evolve) and wait for Haswell. My vulcan project is NOT "dead" just in a comma for a while lol. I did recieve the case :) but it's gonning to be boxed (after inspection) and in the closet for awhile. Current case on order is the Aerocool QX-2000. The i3-550 is still a very useful setup (espcially when I upgrade it to GXT 600 series card and the prices of the i7 860 come down) so I'm going to put that in the QX-2000, mod it out (H40 push pull moded to the front intake and paint the inside and bottom) and put the I3-550 setup in that and use it for a mini desktop gamer or HTPC. I'll let you know when I create a picture thread for that.

In the meantime I'm still going to closely watch this thread for all the cool Vulcan pics and Ideas so by all means, don't stop posting them peeps. I still have the case and when the itch gets to me I'll set it up!
peace. :toast:

Popcorn, it's been quite a while since I've seen a case (any case) with an external radiator. I like what you did with the tubing through the side panel. VERY original!

While answered in private already, for those who are interested in 92mm radiators, you can order them from Asetek's ebay store. For those of you in east Asia, just pick up the Scythe Apsalus 90.

Thanks Majestic for the tips and sharing info! For those that want 92mm Liquid cooling for rear mount on NZXT Vulcan I found this aswell > http://www.overclock.net/t/978289/where-to-buy-asetek-545lc

Look for poster ASTEK_Zack ... he's acutally the guy that runs that ebay store for Asetek and his email is zack.fanning@asetek.com

I plan to get mine now or right before Haswell launches :D

PS pics coming soon (next week or two) when I get my orange 200mm side fan! ... :D

Majestic, you'll get the pms but wondering, interesting fan position on the radiator, what made you put it this way, the side 200mm clearance ?
It looks legit though :D .. did you expierement with the 92mm as in backsid intake or behind the radiator pushing air in through the radiator and then porting air out the top 120s? I'm thinking you set it up like this because of the 200mm clearance you mentioned.. correct ?
Does the radiator transfer any or a lot of heat to the case mounted this way ?

It certainly is ingenuitive and looks legit and cool :D
