Anyone with a 680 wanna give me a little insight as to how it's doing? Driver stability any issues? My 5850 just crapped out on me.

I got lucky and found "1" 680 for sale.. Just barely bought it, before they were out of stock with the seller. 560.00 is a bit steep, but eh.. It's that or no GPU.. God knows I can't have that.. XD

I would rather go for the 7970, but that's my opinion.

I'm in love with my 680, considering I play at 5760x1080, plays nearly everything at full with 50+fps!

I've seen a few on various forums,I wanted one also but with 7970 pricing and its ability to oc so easily I went that route and got a 3 year warranty to be safe. both cards are identical in performance but the 7970 is most likely to keep improving with driver updates. If your set on the 680 just keep your eyes peeld and be fast

If your resolution is only 1080, why bother spending all that cash? The 7970 is excellent as Moocow and Techguy have said but it shines at 2560x1440 and above resolutions and high gfx settings. At 1080p a 680 is actually better.

But at 1080 gaming, an older card or even a 7870 will be damn well good. A 7870 generally levels or beats a GTX 580 which thrashed a HD 5850, so I'd say you'd be better buying a 7870 and overclocking the nuts off it.

You'd get a far better deal that way. If you plan on keeping your 1080p gaming, don't bother paying premium for the 680.

I love mine! It's easy on the power draw and performs beautifully.

No driver or stability problems to report on my part! I'm able to play at 5760x1080 with details maxed out in every single game right now, but that information is widely available on the net.

I think The question you should make to yourself is: are you willing to pay over MSRP for a 680? As mentioned by others, the 7970 is readily available, at lower prices, and is an excellent performer also...

No driver instability issues on my end either and I have a multi card set up. Although... I will admit you can tell the drivers are a little young yet. In some games you can tell that there will be performance increases to come.

Other then that...happy owner here :)

This is a valid argument for the most part. However, with a little patience and common sense, you can get a 680 without issue. I've gotten two 680's at two different times and both times I had the card I was looking for in 2 days or less and didn't pay a penny more than MSRP price.

Just got a PNY 680 GTX for my 3 monitor rig. Absolutely outstanding. It's a reference card but has plenty of HP to run 3 monitors at 5760 x 1080

Lol resolution isn't the only thing that hits performance. Tessellation, AA/AF, etc. They all come into play. It will run a hell of a lot better, that's why..lol.. I will be able to max settings in games, instead of having to go a step down.
I don't want good, I want as close to top of the line, as I can afford. Would you tell a guy who wants a lamborghini to buy a volkswagen? Yea VW's are nice, but it's not a lambo..
I splurge when I can and I've been busting my back side lately. It's my present to me. :)

I found another seller. I got it on the way in the mail. Arrives on the 8th. :D
680 whoohooo!!
Can't wait to see Elder scrolls and Archam city, on this monster. :rockout:
Gonna reinstall metro 2033 and anything else, I can think of, as well..
