Hi guys, not sure if this is the right site to ask this question but here goes:

So I just orded my new gaming system. :bounce:

After a long and hard time trying to decide on what monitor to go for, I went with the reccomendation of a sales guy and decided on the Samsung S27A950D 3D monitor. After I ordered and payed for it, I came upon the the fact that the monitor does not support nvidia 3D vision kit 2. Now I'm not so sure that I made the right purchace anymore? (can kick myself for not doing more recearch befor purchasing this monitor)

Sure this monitor is suppose to deliver unmatched 2D picture quality (excluding IPS now) but I was really looking forward to top notch 3D quality gaming, for as you could say, I'm a virgin in the 3D world and want my first time to be superb :D

Is Nvidia 3D vision 2 really worth cancelling my purchase and ask for a refund and rather look for a nvidia 3d vision 2 supported monitor?

The samsung does come with its own 3D kit which is aslo suppose to be very good. It does get some good reviews while other people experieces some issues with the 3D of the monitor.

Please, if anyone has experience with this monitor or nvidia 3D vision 2 supported monitors, will really appreciate you opinions on your experience.

For your consern, my new pc is running duel evga gtx 680 SC Signature's on SLI. (Nvidia 3D ready)

Well... If you bought a monitor for 3D and it doesn't support your video cards why would you keep it? If you want something with good picture quality, there are some more inexpensive IPS monitors on the market.

What do you mean get something decent instead?! Perhaps you did not read correctly, aside from the 3D, this is one of the best 2D monitors money can buy. Go google it and look it up! I'm not worried that it's not good enough for normal 2D, I'm worried there is better 3D out there that I will be missing out from.

Thanx, but I don't really think you guys are getting my point. The Samsung monitor DOES support my nvidia cards. It supports ATI and Nvidia for 3D. But you get standard 3D glasses and a kit that comes my monitor,

and then you get the "Nvidia 3D Vision Kit" that supports only 3D monitors with NVIDIA 3D LightBoost Technology and Nvidia gpu's. (like specivied by Law-II http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-visi...uirements.html ) My question IS, is the "Nvidia 3D Vision Kit 2" really that much better than standard 3D that it is worth settling for a weaker 2D monitor like the ASUS VG278H but which is suppose to have better 3D quality that my Samsung S27A950D?
