Hi!
I wanted to ask if 91C is normal for HD6770
I was afraid of something and downclocked everything
reaching 73C at max. But really 91?
It does not look normal!
Any suggestions?

Sounds like a badly seated heatsink. Is the fan spinning?

Yeah, lol, I had two in CF and never got higher than about 55-60c even in skyrim using 1995mb. I also had mine OC'ed as high as CCC sliders went too lol.

When you cracked the case putting it in did you stress the card? You could've bent a heatpipe or something, or slid the heatsink off of its seat a little.

In fact, the place where the pci-express hdmi part is put, could not take place, so i had to use a saw to cat the pci-express place and now the card is weighting down...
I cannot help it either way. But it works

Now it works considerably better, with low temps to 47C on iddle and 66C on high
Still i dont think the problem is solved
Did a stupid mod and first mod i have ever made:

And it was VGA, not hdmi, but i used hdmi to make it clearer to people who have higher end cards.

I don't think that "mod" would have anything to do with your temps

My suggestions:
1) clean the card and heatsink. Dust buildup will keep heat trapped. Use a thootbrush to remove dust from between the fins.

2) re-apply thermal paste and re-install the cooler.

corollary: why the bottom slot? Isn't that one 4x? You should install it on the 16x one (the white one). That won't likely help with temps but still :ohwell:

No, the card was like 30grades down and the fan did not supply normally.
Now it is cooler, compared to the 91C i got!
I downclocked everything to stay sure nothing will happen and it performs very well
That is the x16 2.0 one. The mobo is a bit of a weirdo i know :p
The card would not work on the other slot!

The mod is that stupid 'rose' thing which is handling the cards position

And yeah, i was planning like this:
gpu, psu, case, monitor, ssd (next one is the case!)
That is the dream pc :)

Edit: just learned that Amd runs hotter than nvidia...

Redit: Updated GPU-z

Still, i don't believe that it is the case, really.
It could be 10C - 15C at max, but not to run as hot as 91C!
It looks like there is no fan at all xP
