Been coming here for years and I just realized this.. I have to thank Erocker for cleaning up the "whats wrong with these forums" topic, to make me think of this..
It's much easier to condemn than to praise but since we have a topic for one, why not one for the other?
When I first came here in 2007 I literally did not know what lol and wtf and all of that meant..
Completely lacking in any kind of computer skills at all, I decided "Hey let me build one of these monsters"..
Had no idea what I was doing, I keep googling for hours, using strings of nonsensical words, trying to make sense of what to buy and what went where and thermal what?! paste? Like for my teeth?
Eventually I stumbled apon TPU..
More out of blind luck and desperation than anything else..lol..
Within like one week I completely knew how to build a computer..
Within one month I knew how to overclock and aftermarket cool and test.
Within half a year at most, I was completely self sufficient in general computer repair and service, to the point that I actually charge people to fix computers for them..
In short, thank you all for a very different kind of forum..
I say, you can please everyone some of the time, some people all of the time..
Just can't please everyone, all of the time..
But you have a pretty dam good batting average.
