New build for video editing

Hello all,
I am building a new system mainly for video editing. Usually use adobe premiere. Hoping it will serve me well for next 5-10 years. Efficiency is my main concern.
Budget: $1,500 - $2,500 USD

So far, I am trying to decide on a GPU and thinking either GTX 670 or GTX 580. Didn't decide on a CPU yet. Was thinking about mobo's with dual CPU? I am open to any suggestion you can give.

If you're not going to be doing any gaming on it, I'd consider a Quadro or FirePro for graphics. Just my two cents worth.

He's quite right, but a consumer graphics card will server you well, you just need to look at Adobe Premier Supported Graphics Cards Here and the GTX 570 seems best combination of gaming and editing capacity.
I suggest using two GTX 570 + Core i7 3930K. Add the Microsoft Windows of your preference
Newegg parts with red-black color scheme, the case is orange/black

I keep hearing MAC is best for video editing (don't know why tho), may be that's another option?

I thought the adobe website wasn't up to date because they don't have the 600 series cards. So far I think I'm getting this mobo from newegg because it has thunderbolt and 4way SLI.

I was thinking about Quadro but I heard consumer GPU will perform about the same. I won't be doing any gaming or any AutoCAD. I heard Quadros are more for AutoCAD. Never used one of them though.

You should really stick with a socket 2011 instead of 1155 for this system. It'll support more memory and more powerful processors for what you're doing.

Only if you use Final Cut Pro or other Mac software.

I recommend this:

ASUS KCMA-D8 (Dual socket c32, standard ATX size, has a pci-e 16x, needs only one 8pin CPU power)
Opteron 4280 (2) (This will get you 16 cores total, with turbo)
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ (two)
GSkill 16GB (2x8GB) 1333MHz DDR3 - 64GB (4)
Mushkin Enhanced Chronos Deluxe 240GB SSD (2 in strip array)

Will cost WELL under $2,500 and will slaughter anything multi-threaded, like encoding.

I'm planning to build a dual 4280 rig simply for fun. It will run through anything multi-threaded with ease and hits 3.5ghz in single threaded apps thanks to turbo boost. Great option for a cheap multithread workhorse that is very capable of gaming. Add any decent GPU and a cheap PCI sound card and you have a very versatile rig.

Edit: Add a Quadro 4000 for $749, and you're right around your $2,500 budget.
