What are the most recent first person shooter games? (As in, last year - 2 years MAX)

I wanna dl some demo's to see if any are worth buying, but i cant think of any beyond:

Counter strike: Source
HL2 (series)
Battlefield (series)
Call of duty
F.E.A.R

Any idea's?

srry... I misjudged the genre of Halo 2. What WOULD the exact genre be? One site I read today put Halo as a shooter. :confused:

Although a little older, take a look at Soldier of Fortune 2, which is in the bargain bins, and is, IMO still one of the best FPS online.

The single player is also OK, some truely great levels, but also some poor ones...esp. the early ones.

FPS...stands for first person shooter, oblivion is a first person shooter, because you are in first person and you shoot things with your bow

oblivion is one of those multi genre games...fps/rgp/racing (on horses

), etc..etc..

over all oblivion is called an action rpg...

other action rpg games include GTA series, halo, etc...

Thanks for the suggestions guys

theres a couple ive got/played that have been mentioned (Quake 4, Doom3, SWAT etc)

but there are plenty that i havent even heard of

BTW, is rainbow six vegas a first or third person shooter?

Oh and SOF2 and Return to castle wolfenstein were great games

Go into SOF2 servers. They are still very much alive. After playing more modern games, then going back to SOF2 I am, honestly, quite amazed at how good the gameplay is, esp. the leaning. If only the developers of more recent games had played SOF2 then they would have made their titles much better.

Reinstall SOF2. You won't regret it. There are v1.00 and v1.03 servers. I can definitely recommend the RMG v1.00 servers and the v1.03 BOT servers. See www.sofplayers.co.uk to find out how to run BOTH v1.00 and v1.03 at the same time.
