Hi I did a little bit of reading about Prepping my SSD for a clean WIN7 install:

Here are the links:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91339-ssd-hdd-optimize-windows-reinstallation.html
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/113967-ssd-alignment.html
http://www.paragon-software.com/home/partition-alignment/index.html

So after reading about how I can "align" my SSD, it seems I HAVE to create an "aligned" partition to get the benefits and then install w7...

I believe in my case I would create an aligned partition for the whole SSD instead of seperated partitions... The thing is I have to choose a number dividable by 4 and I'm not sure exactly which numbers to input...

I do understand the walkthroughs I linked in the post here but I'm not certain about my numbers. Can you guys help me figure out the numbers ??

I have a Kingston 64 gb ssd.

Windows says it has: 63,915,945,984 bytes ...

So what numbers should I put in?

You don't really need to. Just format and install. The installation process already makes a 100mb partition.

well I've read that aligning SSDs not only speeds them up (by a lot appearantly) and also increases their lifetime...

Also I read that aligning and partitioning correctly my 2x500gb in RAID 0 might boost their read/write speed by much...

So is someone gonna try and help me?

There's gotta be a Computer Expert here... Just read the first 2 pages of this link:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...alignment.html
and give me some numbers for my SSD mentionned earlier...

I'm trying to save 30$ ... Otherwise, I'll buymyself that aligning tool from paragon... Seems user friendly and will def. use it in the future on my other hard drives and SSDs

I'm pretty positive Windows 7 does this automatically. If it supports TRIM and recognizes SSDs out of the box, why would it not align your partition correctly?

And no, I don't run HDDTune tests on my SSD, it is there for my other HDDs.

Don't change anything in windows when you have an SSD other then turning defrag off.
