Mounting a laptop mobo in an atx case?

The mobo is listed as matx, so is it possible? I'm worried if there a HSF mounting bracket.

it looks like you could possible do it, you might have to make now holes in the motherboard tray. but, i think it could work!

looks like the hsf is integrated... a fan might help... and watercooling...

If it's mATX it should be no problem at all. I don't know any ATX-case that doesn't have holes for mATX.

Hmm... most ATX cases have holes for mATX at the least. If you try it, it'll probably wotrk.

he probably wants it in a case to overclock it

its impossible to get a good OC when the components in a laptop are so enclosed with little airflow. This way he has that opportunity i guess

It would be VERY unusual for a laptop to have a mATX format. I don't think you will be lucky enough to find matching holes... but it's easy to make a mounting plate with holes drilled in the right place... which THEN attaches to the case.

the board shouldnt be very heavy, meaning youd probably get away with only using a few screws to mount it, depending on the weight of add on components

PVT your a photoshop junkie, when you DO take the mobo out get a photo of it
and take a photo of the mobo tray from the exact same distance

with a little luck you should be able to see if your holes line up in photoshop
