HD 7970 24/7 unlocked voltage Overclocks?

I am thinking of getting the Accelero Hybrid cooler for my HD 7970 gfx card.

With the stock cooler, it overclocks to (GPU) 1125Mhz / (vRAM) 1575MHz through CCC, with no voltage tweaks applied, with stock cooling.

This in itself is a pretty hefty overclock considering the default clocks of 925/1325 MHz. I would therefore like to get a bit of a consensus on how high these cards can go with sensible volt increases and improved cooling.

They all differ. Sounds like you have a good card so perhaps you'll get over 1300mhz. Only thing you need to do is increase clocks, check for stability/temps and add small bump in voltage when needed... repeat.

Yeah....I dont have any difficulty in overclocking graphics card, but I would like to get a bit of an idea on exactly how high I may be able to push the thing (whilst keeping things sensible). The cooler I am looking at is very pricey and I would be wanting to get much more for my money than simply having my PC run a bit quieter.

If things top out at 1200Mhz on the GPU, then I may have to reconsider the purchase. If it is likely that I could safely go beyond 1300Mhz, then that would be very tempting.

It's pretty rare for a card to reach over 1300mhz. For now, just crank up your fan, make sure your ambient temps aren't too hot and let it rip! Sapphire Trixx works good because it gives you more voltage to play with, I would just start watching things if you decide to go over 1.3v

It is best that you crank up the fanspeed of the current cooler and find out first, rather then just guessing and changing the cooler to be disappointed.

I guess this is why you are asking, but you coudl find out quickly for yourself. None of us can tell you if your card is capable or not.

I hit 1200 core with my Arctic 7970, at 1206v 100% stable.

Not sure if will I try for 1300 or not someday, 1200 is pretty beastly imo, especially since my PC is 100% silent lol
