Sata2 - Sata3 SSD, noticeable difference?

Upgrading my Vertex 2 90GB Sata2 to a Corsair Force 3 240GB Sata3 SSD (275MB/s vs 550MB/s) has anyone gone from an (slightly) older Sata2 SSD to a newer Sata3 one and if so is the difference in boot and load times noticeable?

not from what iv noticed. I dont do the "extreme" tweaking others do though. im all for running it vanilla i disable defrags and put my stuff on another drive but thats about it.

I have a SATA III drive in a SATA II motherboard Boots in 44 sec

Then I also have have a SATA III drive in a SATA III Board that boots in 19 Sec

I would say its noticeable. But as far as after that no I cant really tell the diff

I have a SATA III in a PATA Board and it doesnt boot at all.

Many people report speeds when they have a clean windows and little more installed. Install all your software apps and hardware booting panels, plug your hunderds of USB devices in and come back!

I have tons of stuff and I boot in only 35 secs from SSD. LOL

A little difference in test results, not really anything I would say is life changing.
But, then again, my brain has slowed with age... so it could be a result of that making it seem quicker.
