bought one of these today

Thought my Arctic cooler A/c 12 was good. Wow !!! This thing kills it. Silenx 120 mm fan 14DBA 72cfm. Ac /12 is a awesome fan but this fan was so quiet I had to check to see if it was running right. The only complaint I have is it is giving off a terrible paint smell hope that wears off soon. It lowered my cpu temps by 3 degrees and my case temp by 8 degrees.

Well I bought It at Micro Center and it burned up in my computer room. Apparently that smell was the motor burning up LOL. While it worked it worked LOL. When I tell you this fan was on fire It was on FIRE!!!!

you´re lucky your case didn´t catch fire! apparently those fans are not quality build...

Paint smell?! :eek:

Should be sounding some alarms here!! You may have a leak in 1 or more of your heat pipes. Better check it out before it leaks on your motherboard and does some permanent damage (ie eats away at the tracks and corrodes components).

Sorry, didn't read you last comment. Anyway, better a fan than a damaged motherboard right!

Probably a bad batch, SilenX do make v.good fans, their damn expensive tho, I can rarely justify the cost to myself to buy them tho.

Well I will tell you they move as much air as they say and are silent. However, my Ac/12 is a good fan too and not even a 3rd of the price.
