Thanks but I'm trying to make this the fastest 478 rig The X850XT PE was the last native AGP card and that's also the reason for its inclusion. I'm going with a Red/Blue theme (ATintel) and that's why In selecting those boards as well

I'll think about it. Probably don't need overkill DIMMs for the rest of my systems, although I'm running this set @ 500MHz with my Opteron 170 @ 3GHz.

That's why I want them the Redlines are also a good option. the 4 sticks I currenlty have on my Octanux rig can hit 275Mhz but I already have a pair of the OCZs so it'll be cheaper.

If your going red, I have Biostar P4TSV motherboard that includes a P4 3.4ghz processor. Not sure which processor it is. I will have to pull the heat sink to find out. This is a running motherboard. It also has the red circuit board as well. If your interested I can pull the heat sink and find out which processor it actually is.

I might take you up on the RAM offer. Do I have to ship to Mexico or do you have a USA address to send it to? Never shipped outside of the US before so no idea how that works.

I still need to work out what I'm going to do with RAM as I only have 1280MB of random sticks I can use ATM for the other system. Might carefully move the Opteron back to my A8N32-SLI Deluxe now that it keeps its BIOS settings again, since that system has 2GB of ECC DDR-400 and dual GTX 460s that it folds. I dunno, but I have the weekend to figure it out. Like I said, I'm not going to replace this old hardware once it breaks, so I should probably get rid of this high performance memory while I can to someone who actually wants it, especially since they have another set already.

Part number is OCZ4002048ELDCPE-K by the way.

That's pretty close to what he's looking for alternatively, although you appear to have an earlier stepping (but still, really close). I think the main ones he are looking for are the P4 Extreme Editions with the 2MB L3 cache built in. Those might be a ***** to find too.

stinger, thank you but I selected those boards following 3 criteria: a)red PCB b)PAT (875P or 865PE chipset) c)>3 power phases.

I've been reading some reviews of the IS7 and I think it'll be the preferred board. The ATX connector layout is better and seems to have the best PAT implementation of the bunch.

Your CPU is the D0 stepping. At the very least I'd take an E0. Still I'd like to get my hands on a EE but apparently the extra L3 only benefited a subset of applications so it seems that the Prescotts come pretty close with their 1MB of L2 cache: http://www.sharkyextreme.com/hardwa...ntium-432E-and-34-GHz-EE-Processor-Review.htm

At the end I'd want to test both anyway.


Jstn7477, those are the exact sticks I'm looking for!!! International mail isn't any different than regular mail, you'd just have to fill a customs form. You'll state the contents of the package and its value, that's all.

Thank you but I already got one of those I'm looking for an X850XT PE because it was the last native AGP GPU plus it's a contemporary of the P4

4670 supports newer graphic engines, runs cooler and quieter, draws less power, smaller pcb, contains more ram. 4 gens ahead, driver support is better.

It's a s478-themed build The HD4670 is too modern for that purpose
