a weak/failing PSU can cause restarts and crashes, but it CANNOT cause consistent artifacting like those stripes.


I would replace the PSU no matter what, but its very likely one of the parts i listed will need replacing as well.

am just lil upset because my gpu is not working properly

so what all the parts can i change to make those lines go away

as per u mentioned about using different monitor
i dont have any extra
and i dont always run my pc on gpu
somtimes i got work to do n i cant afford restarts
so switch it to default display i.e onboard graphic
and at that time i dont see any lines
my monitor works perfectly

Is the onboard GPU connected to a different port at the back of the monitor or do you pull out the cable form the dedicated GPU and attach it to the onboard GPU out?

ya i just pull out cable from dedicated gpu n attach it to onboard gpu
and at that time i remove power supply to dedicated GPU also

i remove 2x6pin(75watts) cable from gpu
the extra power which is required to run the GPU

i hope you also remove it from the motherboard, or we might have found the source of why its damaged

Just to add, despite being in the PCI-E slot, it is still getting power, just nowhere near enough which could potentially damage the card.

i just found out the solution that
it was the old drivers which was causing the lines to appear
i removed my old intel drivers n ati both
then again installed ati drivers
and the lines are gone

ok so you cleaned out the drivers and installed the motherboard drivers from intel then the Video card drivers from AMD?

ya thats what i did
even if it doesnt solves the problem
then reinstall windows that should do the trick

ya reinstalling an OS is the last effort

Bear In mind there are DX updates sometimes
