other pc was and is fine, it has a 550ti now. and no precaution was taken

, i remove components all the time. i'm pretty sure stat didn't kill my card. cause then i'll be mourning over my 570 and 2500k at same time.

to me it sounds like you shorted the card out with ESD.

Sounds plausible to me, indeed. Or the "immediatly to the most right" movement of the sliders in Afterburner killed the card. Or both.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

i did that in 4 steps, not the first time i've slide it to the glory.

I think we are drifting from the purpose of Opening this thread. Can anyone help me to find that 8 pin IC or not?

what is the other PC you plugged it into???

I was recently working on a pc with an AsRock board that wouldnt initiate any graphic cards plugged into the PCI-E slots if you used the onboard integrated graphics beforehand.

took me awhile to figure it out but the problem was easily solved with clearing the bios. I recommend you do the same if you havent tried it already.

Does the 5750 work when you plug it back into the pc where you overclocked it?

eidairaman1, it doesn't matter if the card is ref or not the 8 pin short method will work but requires a certain bios. I did this on my XFX 6950 to unlock it.

If the card is not showing up in the flash utility then its dead.

I've just read through the whole thread and it's quite obvious that your card is dead. Something happened to it when you removed it from the PC which killed it. Shit happens, don't flog yourself over it.

Therefore, it's quite pointless to be fiddling around with IC's, bios flashing etc. Max fan with no life is a typical symptom of a dead card.

equivalent to the card would be a 6750, but honestly dont overclock or dont try to bios mod if you dont know what youre doing. sorry.

Ok since you seem to be so interested in the cards BIOS chip, I believe it is this one:

It's close to a clock generator and all and it's the only one of this kind of IC's on the PCB.
As for the data-sheet you have to lock for it yourself since I can't get the lettering on the IC anywhere on the Internet.
I'm not sure why you think that the BIOS chip must have 4 legs, many don't, not to mention that this is an ASUS card, they even replace/re-brand the voltage controller to their own "EPU".

But believe me (and what all the other posters/helpers are saying), you won't accomplish anything with this, well besides wasting time. What ever you did to the card it's dead now, maybe baking it would bring it to life (for a few months).

If do do try to bake it, take some precautions first, and investigate the procedure and the problems that could rise from doing so before actually doing it, and if so good luck.

So, now i'm sure my card is gone.

Thanks to everyone for their time and thought in the thread. specially @temp02 for providing the image and identifying the IC.

Anyway that IC is way to small for me to solder or chewing gum mod, guess i'm gonna keep the card as a paper weight.
