Wireless N Router for desktop & laptop

Yes. All wireless routers (that are also a switch and have RJ45 LAN ports) will allow a WAN connection (the internet), wired LANs and wireless access .... all at the same time.

Yes, there are better/faster routers, but since he did not specify any particular requirements I assumed that he just wanted a basic router for internet access on both wired and wireless devices.
I use a basic TP-Link N-router at work for guest access to the internet (bypasses my network domain) and it works just peachy. :)
