Need some AMD overclokers who are familiar with Trixx or other AMD OC tools, here's a step by step rundown of what I have done so far...
Hopefully that will give you an idea of what my issues are, just a few things....
In AMD OD I can hit 1070core 1575mem (top clock) with no voltage adjustment.
I would like to hit 1100+ core so think I need to be tweaking voltage. Is this what VDDC is for in Trixx?
Why doesn't GPU-Z notice change in VDDC? Why does Trixx return to stock 975 VDDC when driver recovers?
TL;DR
I want to hit higher than 1070mhz core which is the highest stock voltage OC on my 7950. How do I do it?
- Got a Sapphire HD 7950 Vapor-X OC (950mhz boost on 2nd bios)
- I can OC with AMD OD to 1070mhz core and 1575mhz RAM
- Try to OC core more than 1070 and get a driver lockup and recover
- No voltage control in amd OD (power limiter already set to +20%)
- Installed Trixx and set to 1600mhz RAM, 1100mhz core, +20 power limiter and VDDC to 1100-1150
- Run benchmark (3dMark11) crashes with driver fault
- Trixx core and mem clocks stay the same though VDDC always returns to 975
- GPUZ never reports any change in VDDC, always stays at 1.035v regardless of settings in Trixx
