I use an ssd (2.5inch obviously) and I use it as my os drive, no extra cooling, no independant fan just for the drive.Just run it like a normal drive, I watch my temps quite carefully and my 2.5inch drive stays cool all the time no matter what im doing. =)

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Should be little difference between it and a 3.5 inch. I don't quite understand why the move from a 3.5 inch drive would save you space though.

Thanks but i mean a 2.5 inch mechanical Hard Disks that spins, not 2.5 inch SSD.

2.5 inch Hard Disks are used in laptops but you can use them for desktop pc too.

I agree with james888..From 3.5 to 2.5 inch wouldnt really save you much space in your case...how small is your case??

My case is the Raven RV02, i want to get off the hard disk cage ( you can only mount 3 hard disk in this case ) and mount a second 120mm radiator with fans in that place.

I want to know if i buy one 2.5 inch HD this needs to be cooled as the normal 3.5 inch hard disks.

I get it. If they are packed tight like the second image you might have to but not because they are 2.5. You should be absolutely fine. If you find out afterwords that they run a little warm get a fan on them. I doubt you will need to.

If I ever went watercooling I would do this with my single 3.5in hdd.

Just a suggestion. Edit your posts instead of double posting.
