Is anyone able to pick one up and ship it to me? There are none of the stores on this side of the country! As far as I am aware. Ok apparently there are some in CA. Too far away though for me.
If not, it's a steal of a deal for you though!

3770K has been that price at MicroCenter for a long time. 3500K is $169. I live close by a Micro too, if anyone is interested PM me and I will mail it.

I see them price processors under market value all the time, but is there really any profit for them at that price or is it only a loss leader to get someone to buy another more profitable item?

Well they are the only ones doing it, and many stores are sold out now and the rest are almost sold out. So that price is not going to be around for much longer

LOL, They will run that price for the entire run. They did it for 2600K, 920's, 930's and I can go on and on. once in a while they stop it for a week or 2...

And that was precisely my question. All their processors are always priced under market value.

Pretty much. I picked up a AMD x3 phenom II for $29 last week.

It was $269.99 (plus tax) Sunday, I bought one @ NY store.

MC just changed the price either today or Monday.

It is $229

$229 + tax + shipping. Shipping should be $5, $10 max, USPS (post office)

IL sales tax = 6.25% last I checked.
$229 + $14.38 tax = $243.38

After shipping cost is $253.38

They sell that at cost, and mark up their other components so people save money on the CPU, then end up buying their whole system there and paying about what they would to order it online, but MC assembles it and throws in some freebies here and there (my friend was going to get 6GB of RAM for his system there but they bumped him up to 8GB since it made more sense and cost them almost nothing).

That's one reason I wish I were near a MicroCenter. But then again I got most of my parts for a huge deal yesterday over the Newegg Earlybird Black Friday sale.
