hey guys :)

I'm thinking to get 1 HD 7950 ore 2 X 7850 so i need Ur opinion and answer's about this :

1: I've never use any cf setup , it was always sli over the past , so my question is do amd have something like N inspector to use it when new games out to work out the cf ?

2: i've read in tom's H with radeon pro we have less (perhaps none ) micro stutter with cf setup this days( but the real question is , is there any one here have 2x 7850 to prove it with the latest games ?

3: chance to work out the the CF when new games out is more ore less thane nvidia inspector ?

4: also my decision to buy an amd card it's the price/performance they give and also 2x hd 7850 ore hd 7950 are the best price performance in my country 2x 7850 sapphire + 4 games 340 € / HD 7950 VAPOR X OC + 7 games 265 €

5 : as i know and oc hd 7850 to +1200/+1450 = 97-99% hd 7950 so my point is : if i buy 2 x hd 7850 and oc them to the max , i ll have +40-50% performance than any oc 7950 , and also keep in mind if i buy only one 7950 on the next gen HD 8XXX GTX 7XX I ll replace it but if i buy 2 hd 7850 i ll change them next next gen HD 9XXX GTX 8XX so which one are the best option ??

6: final question : the HD 7950 vapor-x have LOCK VOLTAGE ? if yes can i unlock the bios , cause the vapor x don't have an original pcb so .... , also i always prefer baying AMD cards from sapphire ( HD 2/3/4/5 ) but perhaps the TF / WINDFORCE are better , so witch one to choose INCLUDING the BEST OC/TEMP/NOISE/RMA options

Msi TF + 7 games ( Dirt Showdown, Nexuiz, Deux EX, SLEEPING DOGS, FAR CRY, HITMAN ABSOLUTION , -20% MOHWF 285 €
Gig WINDFORCE + 3 games ( SLEEPING DOGS, FAR CRY, HITMAN ABSOLUTION , -20% MOHWF 275€
Saphire vapor x oc + 7 games ( Dirt Showdown, Nexuiz, Deux EX, SLEEPING DOGS, FAR CRY, HITMAN ABSOLUTION , -20% MOHWF 265 €

sorry for my English ans also that i ask lot of question :p

Crossfire works great with pretty much all modern games. I have never encountered any real CF issues at all. I don't get microstuttering on 1 or 3 monitors. That's my personal experience, anyhow.

I would definitely go for the 2 x 7850 if you want maximum performance right now. That will give you exceptional frame rates.

The Vapor X 7950 is a beast as testiment to many users on here including myself, able to OC much past a 680 and 7970 GHZ edition easily, I hit 1200 core and 1450+ vRAM with little effort, score over 10k on 3dMark11 so factor that OC into your decision and the cost of both options.

You will have enough problems with the default AMD drivers without having to worry about crossfire drivers. Go for the 7950.

I max out everything on the 7950, with most games never going below 60 FPS. Exceptions are Battlefield 3, Crysis 3, and maybe a few others.

7950. AMD Game bundle will likely pay for some of it.

VaporX 7950 for 265 euros? Yes please! That's a very good bargain. I know that XFX and Asus locked their voltages in recent cards but havent heard for sapphire.

I believe its better to go for the 7950. It's less money and will cost you less in power consumption and for 1 screen the card can play all games at max detail and resolution with a very big margin for the future. Maybe in a year you will even want to buy a 2nd 7950 for CF when the price will be at (hopefully) 200euro...

mmmmm still need more opinion :p
and btw my update to the HD 7XXX is from an GTX 590 OC 760@v1.00/950(-2%580 frequency) and to be honest i like to play games sync at 74fps so I'm not sure an OC 7950 can handle games at 74 hrz maxed out specially an oc gtx 580 perform better than any oc single gpu 7970/680 and to be honest in some games like bf3 i have drops to 60 50 (CQ-B2K) gpu load 98-99% :p so I'm little bit confused

ps: my gtx 590 is dead so i have no gpu to play with :d

There are enough arguments for that in the posts before and after mine.

How has that attitude been serving you in life so far? :)

I've read in this thread there is a problem with the vapor-x http://www.overclock.net/t/1303929/7950-vapor-x-voltage-locked/370

You link to the last page of that thread, which starts out talking more about problems changing the BIOS, vs actual problems with the stock card itself. That's different.

From what I've read, and the TPU review on it confirms, the Vapor-X 7950 performs quite well even with a sub 1150GHz OC using stock voltage.

The current Newegg deal on the Vapor-X 7950 is tempting, but in the back of my mind I gotta wonder if come Black Friday or after it might be even cheaper.

I'd also like to know if an audio capable DVI to HDMI adapter like this will work with it in case I get these mysterious HDMI problems some talk about.

Uh, WHAT?!?!?!?

No dude, a GTX580 does not outperform the GTX680 or the HD7970, OC'ing or not. Infact, your old GTX590 barely beats the GTX680 and HD7970(less than 10% more performance from the 590). The GTX580 is far from beating a HD7970 or GTX680.

This. Single card yields far less issues then crossfire. Granted there is nothing wrong with crossfire but they can be a major pain in the ass. I would go for a single STRONG GPU like a 670. But that's me.

I second this, unless you have more money than sense for crossfire, a 670 is amazing at 1080p performance, though anything above 1080p AMD is dominating - the cards are excellent value, high GDDR5 memory, and a bunch of free games. I just bought 2 7950's, as i have no sense ;) but the 16 free games i got from it was one hell of a selling point.

euuuh sorry i mean 590 not 580

even with that, a GHZ edition 7970 is only 3% less performance than a GTX590. That's with the 7970 clocked to around 1050mhz. My 7970 can do 1100 mhz on the core with no voltage bump(I just haven't really tried to go any higher), and the 7970 has been known to OC way beyond that. So still-

Uh, WHAT?!?!?!?

The only time a GTX590 is better than the 7970 is only with stock or factory OC'ed speeds. Take into account owner OC'ing through MSI Afterburner or other OC'ing program, and the GTX590 will never beat the HD7970, even with OC'ing the 590. The 7970 has ALOT more OC'ing headroom.

well this problem is new so I'm afraid if get the new one "vapor-x" i ll have a locked voltage thats bad :s

I take it then the "problem" you're referring to is the implied lottery some are referring to in saying some are voltage locked and some are not, and the inconsistent OCing results?

To that I would say consider the number of people here that have raved about their Vapor-X 7950s, and the fact that TPU's review on it showed how well it can perform even with a modest 1135 core speed and no voltage bump.

What I'm saying is FAR too many people obsess over clock speeds and voltages rather than end results, which is all that matters really at the end of the day.

I've seen too many benches showing lower clocked cards beating higher clocked ones to put a lot of stock in core speeds and voltages alone.

That said, just buy from a good vendor that backs their products well, and if you happen to get a lemon that doesn't yield acceptable FPS, return it within the 30 day exchange/refund period. Notice I said FPS, not MHz or volts.

Go for MSI, they have their unlocked voltage and BIOS cards. MSI afterburner is great too.

The MSI Lightnings no longer have unlocked voltage, and in my experience, you better hope you don't have any defect or compat problems, because their support is somewhat lackluster.
