Hi guys this is my current system

- i5 2400
- h67 mobo
-16 Gb ram
- 120+60 Gb ssd
- 500+ 750 GB Hdd
- 650w psu 80+
- gtx 460 1GB
- 23inch led mon

So anyway i do web development ,graphic design and video encoding.

I use programs like photoshop/illustrator frequently // Recently i was creating a complex vector
and it started to lag badly and i found that my cpu was at 30% so i think its the gpu..
I have a budget of 1000 USD. What components should i upgrade/sell?

I was thinking of another 23 inch mn + mobo/cpu not sure if its within the budget.
Or other option was Mobo + cpu

Post away suggestions.

Sell off your current rig and build a new rig around the 8 core Piledriver.

How much is my rig worth? without the 120gb Ssd just the 60gb ssd + 500gb hdd

Taking a conservative guess. If you sell the entire rig whole about £450-500.

for intensive photoshop work & encoding I feel i5/i7 3xxx with HD4000(for quick sync) on H/Z77 board would definitely prove superior over FX or even GPU based acceleration for encoding.. . see 1 2 3
however if you dont mind the difference in performance and prefer the cost effectiveness of FX based system then it is your call..

So the i5 CPU was only at 30% how is a Piledriver going help?

You need to check aroung and see what others are using as hardware for the programs your wanting to run

Those reviews are the older Bulldozer FX. The Piledriver FX dominates the work related tasks, It's anywhere from just under the i5 2550k to above the i7 3770k.

One thing that strikes me as odd is why the OP is getting sluggish performance at only 30% CPU load? Sounds like a software issue.

i7 3930k and gigabyte x79 up5 is within the budget but i wonder if that is even necessary or is a gpu upgrade strongly needed? By the way i dont really play pc games :s. But right now i dont know what is causing the lag. lack of cuda cores?

Sluggish performance ? Well this only happens when i have a complex vector open.. the computer starts to uhm.. lets just say lags when i move the window or were to zoom/in/out . And with any normal image its fine .
