Ok I am going to pull the trigger. If you had the money right now would you buy that monitor over any others?

I'm just going to go rogue for finding a new headset. Yea that isn't the best 1080p gaming monitor for the price. Thanks for the help guys I ending up getting this one: Asus VE248H Black 24" 2ms Full HD HDMI LED Backlig...

I had to find a monitor really fast for a friend, but you can still add your suggestions because he isn't ordering till tomorrow morning. I will check the thread out in the AM

If the headset is primarily for gaming my suggestion is the Corsair Vengeance 1300/1500. I like the 1500 that I have. Also have heard good things about some of the Steelseries headsets. However if you are using it more for music, with some gaming (don't need the attached mic very much, you can always get a separate mic for cheap). Then go with a quality pair of headphones and a sound card (I hear the Asus Xonar cards are good). Some good headphone manufacturers are Sennheiser, AKG, Audio Technica, etc. You'll have to do some research on those as my knowledge is fairly limited.

it's 1200 not 1080p (but yes, it has almost zero input lag, very good for 60Hz gaming)

Well, I've been wondering with this question for a long time now. Is there any quality different between non-LED backlit monitor and LED backlit monitor? Besides power consumption.

Sorry for interrupting.

LED (edge-lit LEDs at least) are all inferior to CCFL. They produce lower color gamut and they also flicker more compared to CCFL lamps. But -on the other hand - they are also easier and cheaper to produce, and marketing something with LED technology sounds much better as a PR to people who don't know much about monitors.

Ah yes, for 1080p there is U2312HM which has a great price (and is even better for gaming due to almost zero input lag), but it is 23'.

or I still see some u2311H on Amazon.
Pros:
+ It's CCFL not led, so less flicker and more color gamout.
+ It can do 77Hz (12HM can only do 72Hz)
+ better design (look and stand wise)
+ can do less brightness/contrast (u2312hm is a little bit too bright in dark rooms, imho)
+ no dark overshoot with moving object like with the 2312hm, so its more like a nice motion blur.. (the bottom line is that it's much better than any 4-5ms crappy TN for sure!)

Cons:
- a little bit higher power consumption (just a few Watts tho)
- a little more input lag so the 12HM is better for gamers who are on the budget perhaps (but it's still very low with the 2311H too, only about 10-13ms average)

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! :slap:
I'm currently conducting research right now... I still think the one I posted above is best price point ratio, but feel free to leave your suggestions!
