EK Water Blocks, Ljubljana based premium water cooling gear provider, is proud to present the EK-RAM Dominator Module, a heatsink adapter which allows virtually any (DDR-)SDRAM memory module (of any generation) to be water cooled in conjunction with EK-RAM Dominator series water blocks.

Each heatsink consists of two separate plates while the DIMM memory module is sandwitched in between. Heat transfer between the memory module and aluminium heatsink adapter is ensured by the use of enclosed thermal pad. Between the EK-RAM Dominator Module Adapter and EK-RAM Dominator series water block we recommend the use of electrically non-conductive thermal grease, i.e. Gelid GC-Extreme.

This product is ready to be used only with double-sided (single or dual ranked as per JEDEC) DIMM memory modules. In case single-sided DIMM module is used one needs to use 1.5 mm thick thermal pad where no memory chips are used (not enclosed). Factory installed heatsink must be removed from each memory module prior to installation (if present).

This set contains two (2) EK-RAM Dominator Module Adapter heatsinks. Each of these items are made of CNC machined high quality aluminium and feature black anodized finish.

Enclosed:
- EK-RAM Dominator Module Adapter (2 pcs)
- thermal pads
- mounting screws
- allen key 2 mm

I have a hard time supporting anything from EK since their plating debacle last year and screwing customers.

Back in year 2006-2008, before Nehalem, Core2 Duo/Quad overclocking had DRAM/FSB dependence. So it was necessary to obtain DDR2 1000-1200 RAM. At first that RAM was pretty hot and expensive. Corsair established their Dominator brand. All Dominator DIMMs had big heatspreaders, some were water cooled. Later on new DRAM manufacturing process rendered heatspreaders obsolete. I bought DDR2 1000 DIMMs with no heatspreaders , that operated at just few degrees above room temperature  Same goes for DDR3 1600, especially 1.25/1.35V ones. Nowadays Core ix doesn't have DRAM/FSB dependence (no FSB), so CPU overclocking is independent from RAM overclocking. Also Core ix RAM overclocking doesn't bring significant performance gain, as it was in Core2 Duo/Quad era. Voltages above 1.65V are dangerous for CPU integrated memory controller too. So RAM watercooling nowadays is pretty much irrelevant.

I think this is more for aestetics than actual cooling. We all know those that really overclock their ram use LN2 :)

Nowadays only APUs benefit from RAM OC.

The days of cursing 2.1 volts through ram is over.

Agreed, I'm done with EK water blocks for a while, especially nickel.

As far as i know that was resolved.

I thought it was resolved too, til I noticed just a while ago that my nickel gpu block is crap, ugly like woah. Next time I take apart my loop I'll snag a few pics. I guess it's just a safe rule to say away from their nickel stuff; I know I won't be getting any more.
