you realize the HX850 passed GOLD testing right? Corsair labled it as Silver because in the hot box tests greater than 40'c it dropped to silver lvls in theory the Corsair HX 850 is a Gold rated unit according to 80 PLUS testing and specifications. So getting one would be spending a chunk of cash to gain a few % on efficiency. and a bit better cable management

If I had money to replace my HX850 by the AX860i I would. Because of the great voltage regulation and ripple suppression and the efficiency is just a bonus

Well I'm either returning or selling the AX750 I just freaking got from Corsair w/ free sleeved cables cause I just saw that Newegg is having insane deals on Corsair PSU's. I ordered the brand spanking new AX860 with free shipping, promo code for 15% off and then $20 MIR, so I get an even more powerful and efficient PSU for an amazing $150 when all is said and done! I passed on the 860i model cause the Corsair software has not been getting good reviews from owners of the new AXi series and it just wasn't worth the $30 premium either IMO, I have no desire to monitor or change voltages on my PSU.

So I would think I should be good go for YEARS with 860 watts of platinum power no?

oh i thought there was only ax850 or ax 860i, if the ax860 is exactly same without the software that's awesome. Tge ax860 would be good for at least 10 years

The AX860i is Digital while the AX860 is analog. Completely different parts internally.

If anyone has any question about the AX860i, I just installed mine(got one for myself for christmas, lol).

Just a small interesting fact: According to the readouts, the difference between a mostly idle CPU and a prime95 loaded CPU is 230 Watts lol.
