I have never had a rig to boot at rated speeds right away. Its always 1333mhz. Then I have to go into the bios to change all the settings to run at the rated specs of the ram.

That's probably because that's what the sticks you had were programmed to boot at for JEDEC profile. That said I doubt you'll have issues, really. Just a little oddity about the Pentium chips..SB cores, but lower ram speed native.

yeah, the gigabyte board only supports up to 1333 from the looks. so ill have to change some settings as the ram is 1600mhz, but only buying it because its the cheapest 8GB kit i could find. Not intending to run it at 1600mhz since you dont need much speed for running a storage server.

ordered the parts. Went with the Intel Pentium build. I just spent some time gutting out the dell. Still have the motherboard in there and such. ill make a project log of all this when the parts come later this week.
