I've noticed there has been a lot less news for each weekday than there was last year. Is this largely because of a shift in focus to NextPowerUp?

There really isn't much exciting stuff happening right now. Especially this week since the Chinese New Year was Sunday.

Seriously? I'd guess 100% of the news board is news. How much more do you want?!

Not much going on with the cpu and mobo market....
No new GPU series , apart from a speculated nVidia card (how many news posts u wanna have about that? :D)

All we see is new USB pendrives, hdds, screens, some software etc... its just a relatively calm period...

On the other hand, I'd like to see more custom watercooling coveraged from TPU (like the recent news about new EKWB universal gpu block...) but that might be out of the scope of what the website wants to offer. (I'd really like to start seeing reviews of WC pumps, rad, blocks etc... maybe make a seperate section for it?)

I think you read into my original post too much. Without a doubt, there has been less news than the average as of late. It's probably what others have said and it's simply the time of year, though it seems there was more news this time last year.

I know when the big conventions are going on, there is a ton of news. On one occasion there was so much news I actually had to go and "load more news posts".

I don't want more news. I was simply commenting on the fact that there has been less news than what I perceive to be the average, and in turn I was curious if there will be a greater shift in focus to NextPowerUp.

I can't wholly agree with the assertion that it has to do with the month.

From February 15th of this year to the beginning of February, ~70 news items have been posted.

From February 15th, 2012 to and including February 13th, 2012, ~80 (close to the same) news items have been posted.

From February 15th, 2011 to and including February 1st, 2011, ~60 news items were posted.

I didn't really care to look back further, but either 2012 was a particularly news-worthy year, or it is more dependent on the year than the month. I'm sure the tech industry goes in spurts like anything else.

Welcome to (a less news-worthy year) February! :)

I fixed that for you. :)

Yeah, the news is way down on TPU and I think that's a great shame. There's many articles that could appear on TPU which are appearing on NPU instead as it cannibalizes TPU's content.

For example, the Steam client released for Linux would make for a perfect TPU news post or press release (yes, Valve released a PR about this) and the comments would likely make for a long and interesting thread. Instead, NPU got it, where only 4 lousy comments got made on those Disqus comments none of us like much. There's loads of other examples like this, too.

I think we'll start to see a drop in activity level on TPU's forums due to this, which will be a massive shame. I've been part of this community for over five years and even though I run my own forum now, I still think TPU is awesome and post here nearly every day. Why ruin a good thing? Such a shame. :shadedshu

I agree NPU was a mistake on this companies end. I check it every day and it rarely updates, and when it does it's a tablet or phone which no one gives a shit about.
