GPU prices going up or down?

Planning to go ahead with the GPU upgrade since I now have a game I can't run. Thanks Crytek 3.

So I was thinking the 7950 but are the prices epxected to go up or down anytime soon since the Titan just came out?

Also, any other suggestion than the 7950? Seems to be one of the best bang for the buck cards right now.

I bought mine for £249.99 and now its £259.99, well worth it tho...

plus if youre smart enough you can get five games instead of three for free!

They hardly ever go up, though with 7950's available from £200 and nothing else aprt from Titan lined up for the most part of 2013 I can't see them going down much either, the most recent time to date I remember them going up from their original release price was the HD 5*** series, otherwise the trend is they will fall though how fast depends on what else is being released and that's not a lot at the moment, it's a good time to buy imo as you may have to wait until next gen from both camps to see any more drops

I don't think Titan might be a factor, at least not at $1000. If nVidia had put it at $650 or something I could see it pushing prices down.

If you live in the UK, the 7950 is certain the best card you can buy. It can be found at £200 if you stalk several e-retailers for around a month, you will definitely find a good brand with aftermarket cooler for about £220+ if you are concerned about noise. The 7970 is at £300 but thats 30% extra price for 15-20% better performance at high resolutions. But if you live in the US ... I've seen nVidia cards with normal prices there.

definitely check everywhere, theres loads of deals on (never settle bundles when sold will knock the price down further)

If you apply VAT to the $1000 Titan to GBP conversion you actually get close to £800 anyway. Remember that VAT helps get your liver transplant on our wonderful NHS when you drink yourself near death through depression from living in the UK.

The prices seem to be remaining mostly stable, slowly going down but by almost nothing. Probably due to no major competitors except of course the $1000 multi-GPUs, which, as not being a direct competitor, will not do anything to drive down prices.

Prices should begin to go down once the new generations are released, and I'm not sure if they're even in development yet.

The prices should be going down, but the odd thing I've seen is some stuff going up in price instead. I would say wait a month at least and maybe some sales will finally come around.
