Hi

Last week I have bought vtx3d hd 7950 x-edition :

System spec :
Phenom II X4 955 BE @ 3800Mhz
16 GB DDR3 @ 1600Mhz
MOBO: MSI 870A-G54

I swapped from HD 5850(excellent card) to vtx3d hd 7950 . I know the VTX3D brand is not the gratest but had to save $ :( . The performance in gaming is excellent - exactly as I was expected and it tunes up perfect(tested on GPU@1150/GDDR@1450 will go higher in time ;) ) and it works like a charm. The only issue I have is that on 3dmark 03 and 3dmark 06 scores are not higher than on my HD 5850. To comparison:
3dmark 03:
Hd 5850 (gpu@900 / GDDR@1250) score 82k
HD 7950 (gpu@925 / GDDR@ 1225) score 78k
after clocking HD 7950 to GPU@1150/GDDR@1450 scores are not changing.

I can see huge difference during the test FPS are 30-40% higher than on 5850 but scores aren't.

Same story with 3dmark 06?!?!
On the Heaven and Valley benchmarks results are simmilar to those posted on the net .........

Can any one explain what could be the issue ?

3dmark 03 and 3dmark 06? Come on, those benchmarks are old, step it up. You are using a 10 year old benchmark on a modern card? How is a 10 year old benchmark going to exploit the capabilities of a 7950?

3dmark 11 and all current benchmarks are OK , still dont know what the hell is going on with 03 and 06 while others have 2x higher scoers :) It is nice to campare mine legacy GC's to the current if you know what I mean.

Cheers

id guess like people said its old, outdated and drivers probably don't react the same (edit: just seen its dx9 so that may have an influence). ill do a run now and see

Seriously, I had an X4 635 with my HD6950, on 3dmark 2006, doing 18k. when I swapped for my i5 2500k @4.7ghz, went to 29k... Old benchmark, don't use it, it doesn'T worth it. It doesn't reflect the true performance.
