Corpse-of-ellis

I carry the [PnS] clantag but there is no clan - not anymore at least. I'm mediocre at best - the guy above a few posts, Finners, is way better. In fact he probably hacks ;)
He doesn't, but playing beside me, anyone looks good!

EDIT:

My block just arrived - not bad considering it was shipped at 14:11 yesterday from Slovenia. Not even 24 hours. However, i pissed my self when i opened it. Many companies use old papers to pad out a parcel. I got a nice sex shop advert in mine!!

Can someone translate?

Haha that's brilliant! Does it have a website on it?

I'll be on battlefield in a little while so you can rub your new card in

"lol" isn't enough :D

It's not anything you've not seen before but it's highly amusing to find it scrunched up in your delivery parcel. It beats the fruit gums Overclockers send.

As a handful of you here already own the Titan, i'll ask:

Could 2 Xeons bottleneck the card? Doubt not only from me, also from a dude called Elric Phares (you guys might know him, LOL).

I decided to get the Titan a few weeks ago and it is still running well now, but I think the only issue for now is that better drivers are needed to get more performance from generally all Titan graphics cards. I have no plans on overclocking as the Titan is more than powerful enough as it is at stock for me, but I will share screenshots of the results I got on Unigine Valley Benchmark 1.0 (ExtremeHD preset) and some basic info that GPU-Z reads from my Titan.

My EK blocks are in the mail, bought the nickel plated version, hope everything's OK, it will take me a while to put these puppies under water, since I'm starting from zero.

This is going to be my first custom loop, thank you very much 54th for helping me pick the parts! You rock man:rockout::respect::pimp:

BTW, are you adding a list of members in the club? It seems like are numbers are swelling :p

Trying very hard not to just go ahead and put the block on. The back plate is not yet available (very high demand apparently). Mine should hopefully get posted out tomorrow. Suppose i really ought to wait and do the full lot together.

Just hate waiting.

Want to see how far it goes. With a simple +60 offset it reaches 1042 in Valley, (using Ultra settings at 2560x1440). However with a temp target of 85 it still starts to down clock (to 1006) at 80 degrees.

I figure the water will keep it so far from a base target (80) that it will keep high boosts. Impatience is a terrible thing.

At least it's also been playing TR without any real issues (other than that related to driver code). Dammit, I'll wait. *puts block back in wrapper and into box*

Looking forward to water cooling this thing :D

Ran a Heaven run with the following settings: Extreme Tesselation, 8xAA, 16xAF, 1920x1080, windowed mode (was monitoring).

At stock, all Nvidia auto settings. Boost clock hits 993 on my stock clocks (not bad) but during the run started down clocking to low 900's (as it is designed to do with temp on Boost 2.0. Fan stayed nice and pleasant.

Ran it with a simple +100 core offset and ran a more aggressive fan curve. Temps stayed pegged at 71-72 degrees and boost clock remained stable at 1084. Noisier of course but there was no drop in clocks at any point.

A fairly decent 10% increase in fps with a very quick overclock. I know a lot of folk over at overclock.net have been ranting about throttling but i think half the problem is keeping the temp down low. I haven't seen any gpu usage dips or sudden fps dips. I've not tampered with voltage either so it looks like water is the way forward for continuous quick speed.
Now if i can squeeze 150 core boost I'm looking at maybe a 15% performance increase which makes this thing absolutely fly. I just hope it's stable. :)

EDIT: Thought I'd check it gainst the old Heaven 3.0 benchmarks but that thread is too old to post in. Heaven settings are 1920x1080 (fullscreen), 8xAF, No AA, Tess is normal.

Titan at 1110MHz core, 1502(6008)MHz memory (constant boost using custom fan profile)

My dual 7970's at 1100MHz scored 178.4, so one Titan (driver arguments aside) is only 25% slower.

Block on, pics to follow...

Before the carnage

Cleaved in twain - it feels wrong removing that cooler.

A shiny chip - it was really hard to photograph, it was too reflective!

The new cooler - not the best finish i have to say, a mirror finish would have been nicer.

New thermal pads and paste (MX4)

The bit that worries you the most - are all the points contacted...

Leak testing

Happy time. I like neat tubing but i like my case tubing to be organic.

I don't count this as double posting - all the posts are discrete and informative.

I've ran Heaven 3.0 looping for an hour and max temps were 40 degrees. My fans on a quad rad are set at about 5-600 rpm so very low airflow. I put my power offset to 106% and didn't adjust temps, moved power limit to priority and unlinked to temp. My core stayed at 1100MHz on my +130 core offset for the entire hour long run.

I'll play more once I'm happy it's game stable and the memory chips are adequately cooled. I'm not overclocking memory yet, wont do that till I have a back plate - which are in very short supply :(

My Titan now runs as fast as my previous cards so it's caught up by about 10% (at least in benchmarks). Titan under water makes perfect sense because the temperature throttling becomes absolutely irrelevant. The lack of LED lighting and fan wattage also means the extra power can go to the pcb components instead.

Come on folks, get them under copper!

Hit a snag.

I think my Asus card is voltage locked. Used Afterburner (Beta 6) and despite moving voltage slider up the monitoring stays flat at 1.162. Wouldn't run stable at 1150 or 1137. And then sods law, despite running for an hour earlier at 1100 the driver failed during my last bench run.

Typical. Well, back to fiddling. I'll see if it's stable in BF3 at 1100.

There is a modded BIOS floating that gives the card 1,215v/1,249v and sets 115% max power target.

It has been good for many users, i've seen many 1202 mhz stable on air with that.

You'd have to flash though

Those pictures are evil... they're seriously making me consider spending money on getting Titans or taking the plunge so to speak and figuring out how to water cool my rig...

Water makes everything so quiet and tranquil. Once you start it's hard to stop. ;)
