hello guys so my quastion is befor getting somthing i wold like to have some opinions of you guys just to see if there is any reason to get a i7 2700k insted of geting the i5 3570k ?

I will use cpu on AsRock z77-Extrime 4, with 4Gb Genesis 1600 and with new card that i still thinking getting a Evga GTX 660 TI FTW 3Gb for 299€, and i wold like to OC CPU somthing in 4.0Ghz and just need to know wich will be beter cpu for gaming ?

Thanks guys hope you will help me out here.

Oh and i7 2700 k is used cpu so i'm getting very cheap and if i will get i5 i will buy brand new one the price here for i5 3570k is 219.50€ and i7 2700k is around 170€ that i think is very good price and some extra perfomance and beter OC, and i know a bit about hyper threading but i wold like to know if i will do OC do i leave it On ? do it help in games ? just new in Intel CPU world so :/ kind of like a Noob :)

do the 2700k. easily. at that price for 170 is a steal. as long as the seller has good feedback. 2700k hands down.

So you think that the right choice will be a 2700k ? right oh and this cpu is in worenty still so ;) think it will be a high jump from AMD 6300 ! but still i wold like to know what you think about i7 2700 k suports only 1333Mhz mem and new EV suports up to 1600 or more dno but i can say that they suport 1600Mhz and native PCI-E 3.0 and SD i7 2700k is PCI-E 2.0 and 1333Mhz :/ but for the price is a very atractive !

Unless you need pci 3.0 or marginally higher single threaded performance. Go with the 2700k. As said before, your ram will be fine. To answer your question about hyper threading, try to get as high as you can with it on. If you want to go for clock records and what not turn it off.

Thanks guys all of you ! and James888 so if i understand right so as far i keep the HT on and oc more it's going to have more Perfomance right ?

LagunaX thanks bud! yhaa i was actualy thinking on geting a 2133 mem a kit of G-Skill or if there is any Corsair i do prefer more Corsair because of warranty :D

And xxdozer322 :D thanks bud i actualy know that its suport the 1600 but i have to set in BIOS a XMP porfile for Memory right ? cause native of SB cpu's is a 1333Mhz dno if i'm right. Ah and i think that i will try to wait get more cash and buy a 670 or even go for a 7XX series.

Yes, its actually what i had to do too manually, just enable xmp and boom your RAM speed is up. I was about to get the Asrock extreme 4 its a really nice board for the money.

And i know that is a good CPU for OC also is very easy! i wold like to go with 5Ghz at 1.4v with HT off and just set the multiplicator to x50 = 5.00Gz and i know it will go up to 70c at max load and Delta will be around 54c, and is on air cooling with Noctua NH-D14 or somthing like H50 but i have to see by $$$
:D

Oh and if i turn off HT it will set my 8 treads to 4 right ? so it will be on cpu-z 4/4 not 4/8 ?

the H50 won't be enough for the 2700k at 5 ghz. I have a H60 with a added fan for push/pull on my 2600k. At 4.9ghz(highest stable OC I've manged), I would go way over 80'c. Even at 4.2ghz/1.3v at full load, my 2600k runs between 70' to 80'c. If you want a Corsair H series liquid-cooling unit, I highly suggest getting a H80i or bigger unit. My running temps over the last 3 1/2 days and settings my 2600k is currently running at-

About your HT question, yes. Disabling HT will set your CPU to run 4/4

Many of the people I've seen with the 2700k have gotten higher clocks than people with the 2600k on average. I wouldn't be surprised if 2700ks in general just bins better. I've heard of people getting 4.8 to 5.4Ghz stable on air with the 2700k.

As Dave found out during my adventure with the Samsung green ram, it more depends on the BIOS of the board about where the ram will run best.

Turns out the Intel BIOS dev's made my 1800 divider FAR more effective than most other boards at 2133. The point I used when going this upgrade was how good would my CPU O/C [always a crap shoot] but also how well it uses it's cache, in this case you have 8mb of L3 it will always outperform a lower cache, provided they both have the same associative level of access.

I don't doubt that one bit. Infact the 2700k is nothing more than better binned 2600k. I'm not saying a 2700k can't be run on air at 5ghz. I know it can be done. I was refering to the OP saying they planned to use a H50. Well since I have a H60 with a additional fan for push/pull(something the OP didn't mention doing), and it barely does the job IMHO, I figured it would benefit the OP by sharing my experience with one model up of the series cooler he/she is planning on using on basically the same CPU at close to the same speeds as he/she intends to run at. IMHO, the H50/H60 is not adequate for the OP's intended use and that they should look into a better cooler, such as the H80i if they want a closed loop system. For air, I would suggest the Noctua NH-D14.
