I am looking to build a computer that will run league of legends and maybe BF3.

I was thinking intel I3 low wattage
A basic USB 3.0 Micro ATX mobo
4-8gb of RAM

I already have a GPU PSU and HDD

Is that the best setup for it? I am not looking to spend a ton of money. Maybe in the price range of $200ish - hoping to trade some stuff in my forsale section too.

What do yall recommend looking at?
Is AMD's CPU's even worth taking a look at, since I am not getting their high end models?

Possibly something like:
ASRock B75M-DGS R2.0 LGA 1155 Intel B75 SATA 6Gb/s... - mobo
Intel Pentium G860 Sandy Bridge 3.0GHz LGA 1155 65... - cpu
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 ... - ram

I am worried about the CPU though ...

Microcenter is your friend. Their mobo/CPU combo deals cannot be beat.

ya I was looking there ... I was thinking possible the AMD combos like 4100 or 4130 maybe to save some money.

would they be much slower than the I3 3225 chip microcenter has bundled?

No point in the i3-3225 if you have a GPU. See if you can find a bundle with the i3-3220.

The FX-4100 doesn't really make sense imo, because by the time you've bought the cooler, motherboard and electricity required to overclock it to i3 performance levels, it isn't cheaper anymore.

well right now microcenter has the i3 3225 and the i5 3570k so I don't have a bundle option with intel that I like yet.

I dont really plan on OCing anything, I will probably run stock for awhile until I get more time.

Also, I recently picked up an i5-2400 and H61 on eBay for less than the price of a new i3-3220. So that's a quad and a mobo for the price of a CPU. Worth thinking about if you're willing to be patient (obviously never buy anything in an auction, they sell for what they're worth!).

I would go with the least expensive Intel CPU that Microcenter has that also gets you the $40 discount on a motherboard. If you wanted to splurge, you could get a 3570k for $189 and then go with one of the free mobo's that MC offers when you buy a CPU.

Because there isn't anything very exciting about a budget motherboard, no matter how you slice it. Personally, I would go with Asrock Pro4M, but you can spend even less on the mobo to get a faster CPU. You will appreciate a faster CPU more than you will appreciate one or two extra bells and whistles on a motherboard.

that Pro4 doesnt look all that basic haha. Is it worth $50-60 more than a real basic mobo like the one I listed in the first post?
