Hi all,
i have a kingston 16gb flash memory that suddenly decided to be read only, normal and CMD formats dont work, tried with "unlocker" also doesn't work the all show that its write protected and cannot continue,
anyone have more solutions to share or should i give up on it?

Is this a SSD drive or a USB flash drive? If it's an SSD, I recommend using a tool like CystalDiskInfo to check SMART and if it's a USB flash drive there must be a switch or it's on its way out. I take it that you can't format the drive either and that it's not that filesystem that is locked.

It's a USB flash drive, a somewhat old model but still solid, and no it doesn't have a switch,i cracked it open and didn't find anything other than it has (apparently 2 8gb toshiba NAND's and a toshiba controller) but no switches.
unable to format because it says read only and also shows as read only under disk management.

Just tried that utility and it just gives off (Format Error occurred at offset "numbers") and nothing happens after it finishes so i guess its dead then? :cry: even though i can still "read" whats in it
