Dead pixel yes or not?? Please help.

You deserve a million kudos for not only describing how you fixed it, but posting pictures as well.

For future reference, a dead pixel can sometimes be exercised or physically massaged (less recommended) to free it up. I need to try exercising a pixel on my new TV, actually.

So it seems someone was not wanting me to use the monitor. The very next day after I repaired it a thief came in the passage(we live in ground floor) and pulled the disconnected internet wire so hard that the wire somehow got twisted with monitor wires and fell down. And with it broke the LCD.

So today I got a new one(convinced dad). A LG E2042TC.

I had a heap of these things after replacing a blown cap in an old monitor.
I was pretty sure they weren't dead pixels and it was strange how they gathered in the bottom corners.

Now I see it was dust which accumulated over the years and somehow made it's way in to the panel itself.

Well done for fixing yours.

I've had the same thing as well, but that did turn out to a dying panel. The lesson is it always pays to check, as you can see earlier in the thread i was sure it was a dead panel. We learn everyday and im glad i was wrong. :toast:

also i laughed at the monitor falling over.

With mine I could tell they were not pixels but appeared to be things which appeared further back behind the pixels.

Either way, it gave me an excuse to buy a new monitor which I really needed as the old monitor panel was a piece of garbage in the first place.
