ok , so i have been the dark for about 3 years now , holding on to my 480s like they were gold ..
well i finally plunged and got a couple 680 4 gb in sli.
I have read alot about over volting the 680s , and i am not sure if i compleetly understand .

basically i am going to over clock them when i get my water blocks .
I used msi afterburner to over volt and over clock my 480s with no problems .

so here is the question . can i use after burner to oc the 680s . or do i need a evbot ?
thies cards dont have that port on them so , i was wondering if i could use msi ab to force voltages or does this not work ?

if it does work , what is a common OV ad OC for this card on water ?
sorry if thies questions are dumb but it has been a while for me and this is what thies forms are for .. dummies like me :banghead::banghead:

someone please help .

thanks !

Kepler series GPUs are completely different when overclocking. Theres no manual voltage tweaking anymore. Instead it does the 1.175v (Software detected limit) and 1.21v (Hardware limit)

Just increase the core MHz offset and memory till the game freezes up or artifacts. The card will reach the max 1.175v/1.21v on its own.

and Common overclocks for 680s is about 1250mhz.

That one's a bit harder to predict, but with moderately good Hynix chips and sufficient cooling, you should get to 1700-1750 MHz.

I'm clocked at 1250mhz on my MSi GTX 680 PE card on air. It uses the lightning heat sink and back plate. :toast: I've heard some users on water get 1350mhz to 1450mhz no problem.
