Saw this same monitor at bestbuy on display and was rather dull and not bright. Not sure if it's because the settings were messed up, but Samsung monitors are usually pretty bright and vibrant.

Also 27" @ 1080p isn't really ideal. 23" monitors @ 1080p is the sweet spot for that resolution.

Just my 2 cents

The Dell website lists the Dell S2740L as an in-plane switching (IPS) monitor, not sure exactly which variation but it should be a very good monitor regardless. However, it's only $10 more on Dell's website so I don't think it's particularly a good deal. The LG one seems pretty decent for the price.

Note that the Samsung one is an HDTV, so if you're using it strictly as a computer monitor, I'd forget about it.

I saw a different model Samsung in store, didn't realize this was HDTV.
