Hey Hi Guys,

I am planning to build my Computer, which shoud have everything best in Market.
I want to build Server level of system which can be used for:-
1. Watching all my Full HD movies and videos in an Excellent Clarity
2. Play my songs with Best base Audio
3. Doing Virtualization of about 20 Systems (including Linux, Solaris etc.)

These are my devices:

Already bought:

Antec Lan Boy Air Cabinet (Yellow one)
Seagate Barracuda 3 TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (ST3000DM001)

Decided to buy:

Intel 3.5 GHz LGA1155 Core i7 3770K Processor
Samsung 840 Series 250 GB SSD Internal Hard Drive (MZ-7TD250BW)
Cooler Master Silent Pro M850 850 Watts PSU
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) PC RAM (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10) 1600

Confuse about Buying Motherboad::banghead:

ASUS Maximus V Gene Intel Z77 Express LGA 1155 OR
ASUS Maximus V Formula Intel LGA 1155 OR
ASRock Z77 Extreme 6 Motherboard OR
ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Professional Motherboard

My requirement about Motherboard:-

-Should handle atleast 20 OS Virtually.
-Should have lots of PCI and PCI-e slot, so that I can insert:-
a.A Asus Sound Card
b.A TV Tuner card
c.A HD graphics card
at the same time.;)
-(a board should support Intel HD Graphics 4000)

I liked Asus maximus V Formula but as written in reviews it has average performance at such high price and moreover the on board Audio is also said to have low sound output from back connectors.:shadedshu
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/Maximus_V_Formula-ThunderFX/13.html

Which is better among ASUS Maximus V Gene Intel Z77 Express LGA 1155 OR ASUS Maximus V Formula Intel LGA 1155 OR ASRock Z77 Extreme 6 Motherboard OR ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Professional Motherboard.

Please advise.:respect:

The boards you listed are good but to be quite honest, CPU performance on all Z77 boards are very close if not equal. MSI's Z77 GD65 remains one of the best bang for the buck......

The ones you listed, The Genie is rather tight being a Micro ITX board, the Formula is more than you need and overpriced, the Extreme 6 is very good as the Fatal1ty

I'd go for the Extreme 6. A friend of mine owns one and based from his feedback, it's a great board. It's also a lot less expensive compared to the Formula. I do own a Gene and it is a great board but it doesn't have a PCI slot so I guess you could cross that from your list. The formula also doesn't have any PCI slots so I guess that could also be crossed from your list:)

if you aren't applying significant load to multiple Virtual OS's at the Concurrently(ie running 2 or 3 at a time) then the 3770k will be fine else you may wanna look at a E5 XEON CPU(LGA2011)
850Watt's is overkill for a system without a discrete gpu
you are gonna want 24 to 32GB of ram tho virtual machines use a LOT Of Ram
you should allocate at least 2GB of ram per-instance 2/8 so at max you could run 3 Concurrent sessions@full load before the host OS starts complaining
(again this only matters if you are running Multiple Concurrent VM sessions)^

when it comes down to it its pretty much the case
the only deciding factor is if you wanna do some overclocking and in that case, go for a middel of the road board and the rest of the bells and whistles usually come along for the ride. even then it doesn't much matter overclocking intel chips is stupid easy and the board matters very little unless you are working beyond 4.2Ghz or so
on the intel side it really doesn't matter all the much if you are talking motherboards in the same Chipset family intel is pretty strict compaired to amd in regards to what the vendors need to have on there boards

there is no such thing as "awesome" on-board sound and unless you have high end speakers and amps it won't matter you could run the audio though a old sound blaster LIVE and it would sound the same if you really want good audio AND have a good quality speaker/headphone setup grab a XONAR and call it a day
else any-old Z77 motherboard will do

I would have gotten more memory then 8GB if you plan to run multiple VMs at one time, because windows will consume about 2GB for itself so you only have 6GB left for VMs, unless you plan to run 256mb VMs.

I would have gotten a 16GB kit, and then even better would have been 32GB. All kind of depends on how much memory you plan to allocate to each VM.

And then are you going to have all the VMs running off the same NIC the host uses, or you going to want 1 NIC for the host, and 1 separate NIC for the guests? With that many VMs I would have one NIC for just the host, and then have another NIC for the VMs. There are motherboards with 2 Embedded NICs out there. Or you can buy a separate card.

Something like the Gigabyte Z77 UD5H would be good.

Thanks all guys for above replies!:respect:

-Yes, I do feel that 850W will be overkill, I guess 750W would be ideal one.
But I chose Cooler Master Silent pro 850W because of its review about being so silent. But then I feel that once I have my sound card, TV tuner card and graphics card installed in with around 5TB of SATA and 250GB of SSD , then may 850W would be ideal one.
Question1:-
So My Question is will 750W PSU carry all these load?

-Yes, I am going to use 32GB of Corsair Vengence 1600MHZ, 16GB at start of build.:rockout:
About RAM, My question is:-
Question2 :-
Will i7 3770K and Asrock extreme 6 carry ram of 2400MHZ?
(In reading , it says that it will carry)

I really liked Asus maxumus V Formula, but here in this site, it is mentioned that ,its overclocking performance is not that good.
What I like about V Formula:-

1. It is Stable and consume less power.
2. It's on board sound feature
3. It's PCI, PCI-E slots
4. Its onboard wifi and Blutooth 4.0

I already have 2 Desktop one AMD and one Intel both Dual Core , so I want this machine to be Super machine, I can spend around $1200:D

I just saw Asus P8Z77-V DELUXE on Asus site and it also seems to have more features.
http://in.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z77V_DELUXE/
Question 3:-
Please tell me which boar is best among
Asus Maxumus V Formula Or Asus P8Z77-V DELUXE :respect:

Question 4:-
Will this on board wifi stream 1080p videos on my Samsung Galaxy Note Mobile.

Thanks please advice.:respect::respect::respect:

Asus Maximus V Formula has the best onboard sound without a doubt.

But I just read in review here on teshpowerup site that it has the best sound from back connector , but it is small sound not big, and from front panel it produces big sound but poorly.
I want to connect my two Mitashi 2.0 Ch Tower Speakar System With 5000w p.m.p.o.
However for sound I am going to buy one Asus Xonar D2/PM.

I am very curious about my this system build , I have already bought Antec Lan Boy Air yellow Cabinet.:rockout:

Does Asus V Formula has mSTATA drive slot?

What difference between mstata drive ans SSD drive, does msata drive act as cache memory to normal sata hard disk?

I have already plan to buy Samsung 250Gb SSD.

Please reply.

msata is just a smaller form factor for sata you could in theory use it as the main drive but mainly its there to plug a SSD in and use a a cache
personally I think SSD caches are a waste of money just go for a reasonably sized SSD and you should be good to go

Hey Mate!
Tell me something more about this Formula board as I am thinking about finalizing it.

1. Can the on board Wifi stream HD videos to your Tablets or smart big screen phones ?

2. Is the on board Volume which comes from the back connector is less?

3.What if I buy Asus Xonar series Sound card, will onboard sound also be add on to that to produce best of the best sound, I have good speakers too.?

4.Formula uses/supports Intel HD 4000 graphics right ?

5.How is the overclocking performance? What's the max speed?

6.How fast the ROG connect charge our smart phones ?

Please answer...:respect::respect::respect:

The Speakers sound like they need a real Amplifier\AV to run them any chance you could post some pics of them including the rear.. BTW PMPO is just marketing crap and the real power output should be said some were with RMS and would not be surprised if there just 50w(RMS) speakers.

If you want clearer bass and those speakers do need a AMP or AV NAD will probably be your best option And if you want more of a natural sound SONY might the right way to go. I say might as in my passed experience each manufacture change fairly often although the too said ones are more commonly that way.

mSATA uses smaller connectors used with laptops.

If you pick a INTEL setup you can use a SSD for caching but i believe you only need a 32GB one to do so.

Samsung 250Gb pro is said to be a really nice SD to own.
